Last night when many were celebrating🥂🍾

I was walking home from the Marais.

I’m usually under the covers, when others got the news.

I walked past Au Petite Versailles du Marais boulangerie.

Who can resist? Besides nothing else was open. And it is one of the prettiest boulangeries in Paris.

Yes I got this tarte au pomme for later. It came in handy!

Let me tell you I didn’t see any dancing in the streets in Paris. Nor hear any church bells ringing.

They are ringing now but its Sunday. No cars were honking in the streets like New Year’s Eve. Everyone in Paris was in Lockdown. Or flown the coop to the country. The virus has been surging in France, though France24 says this past week some numbers have come down 👏👏

Let’s pray the divisiveness of the election and past 4 years can heal. That Americans can lift a glass 🥂and Live together as Sade saysXXX❤️🐻💋

  4. We did indeed have celebrating and dancing in the streets here in California but we did it all with out masks on and our dancing was all very far apart from one another. May we become one with the world again in fighting this virus with our will and actions. We were celebrating that just as much as anything else. There is much to do, we are eager to begin. love to France and the entire world.

  6. What a lovely post, thanks so much. We are still relieved here in California, and hoping Biden can actually be certified. It has been so hard on our country as you well know. Many are feeling a bit lighter now, and yet still the polarization continues.

Seeing your beautiful Paris pictures looking so lovely and calm is incredibly pleasant. I enjoy every post even though I don’t often comment. It’s great to be exposed to culture around the world, and especially one of my favorite places to visit. Thank you for all the work you put in to these posts, we all love them!!

  11. I admit I cried out of gratitude things went this way. But still so much divisiveness. I have been so naive. I thought we were so beyond all this, but we’re not. Lots of work to be done

  17. Such a beautiful post on a day we actually have something to celebrate. Love the champagne water color and your pictures of Paris, but it looks a little forlorn without people. I saw (and heard) some posts of the ringing church bells. The world (or most of it) is happy.

Yes my dear, we all finally got a good night's sleep after the dancing in the street and flowing champagne. (my favorite Veuve Clicquot was very soothing). There is light at the end of the tunnel. It's a long road back, but we're on the way.
