Meet: PBer Janet

Its nice to put a face on Parisbreakfast letter subscribers.  send out piles of letters 💌 monthly and sometimes I wish I was on the receiving end. Subscriber Janet said she was staying on the Isle. Could we meet? I thought why not? Janet's work station is covered with my Paris letter artwork. Seeing her photo was as thrilling as seeing my poster in the Metro. Feel free to send any PB photos svp.
Janet's Champagne collection inspired me to get out the Hooker's green paint. You can order your fav brand on Etsy. After visiting her spacious apartment I invited her to my shoebox studio
To meet Bear.
Then we toured nearby frozen food store, PICARD to check out the goodies.
A block away an obligatory stop in BOULANGER DE LA TOUR.
J. Got DAVID LEBOVITZ's favorite Paris-Brest
It looks a lot like this boat.
When J. stayed on Ile Saint Louis last January, she remembered the Seine was flooded. I remember jam shipments were not getting into Paris. It was a real crisis for some of us. Later on I emailed J. to tell her to leave her lovely apartment and catch the Eiffel Tower lighting up on the hour. Happily she did. The Seine at night is spectacular - a don't-miss experience when you're in Paris.
So drop me a line, Parisletter subscribers when you come over. Don't be a stranger. An OPEN STUDIO visit may be possible. Now back to finishing the January map!!! Eeeek
Thanks for reading Parisbreakfast. If you'd like to receive Parisbreakfast letters, watercolors and mapin your mailbox, look in my Etsy shop.
With love from Paris xxx ❤️ 🐻

  2. I was in Paris last September and thought about contacting you--but then didn't do it because I thought you might think I was a stalker! When we come back--I will definitely try to get in touch!

  3. I certainly would love to meet you while in Paris someday. I,too, thought you would be like - oh no,another stalker! haha, but to me it would be an amazing honor. One rarely gets to meet the living artist who has brought joy to one's life for so many years. In the 10 years I have been following you, your trips from NYC and then your move to Paris I have learned so much about both places. I have pins all over the google map that I will someday get to visit , notebooks full of plans for which part of Paris to stay in, where to eat, what to do to fill my days. So for that I sure thank you ! One thing I really need help with is the type of milk to buy for my coffee that is similar to half and half or cream in USA! I stayed in a apartment over by the Grenelle market , shopped in grocery stores, bought so many bottles of white liquid in hopes of getting cream for my coffee! Haha, it was such a crap shoot! I took a pic of all the "milks" I tried.I should have taken a photo of the one that was actually like cream. I think we even had bottle of baby formula! Standing in the monoprix staring at the dairy was fun, but like everything> real locals want you to get out of their way so they can shop and go home. Obviously my French language skills are bad,
but I get by while trying to use a little French when I can . It's a plan in the distant future to return to the place that makes me the happiest. It seems like living there has made you the happiest. Thank you for all you share each week! Happy thoughts to you from your Fan in Rural Oregon! Happy New Year!

So thrilled to see this post today, as I will be
visiting Paris ( my favorite place on earth)
mid March with my daughter in laws & two grand
daughters (8 & 10) who love Paris as much
as Grammy ! They live in Austin, Texas & I
    live in Solana Beach, Ca.
I’m also a “foodie”, photographer, art history
major, & love painting with watercolors!
So when I found your blog I was in heaven!

  9. Someday if you ever travel to Molakai, there is a Japanese Bakery that makes Sweet loaf bread. Sounds good right now. So does the pastries in photos. Wish they could be mailed with no petroleum use. Maybe I should do some baking.
