Parc Monceau

Painting a bowl of cherries isn't as easy as you'd think. This is my 2nd go at it...

I was riding line 2 today and decided spur of the moment to get off at Monceau. I haven't been to the park before...

Yesterday my sister wrote me,

"Have you taken off the rose-colored glasses yet?"

What do you think?
Some days life is just a bowl of cherries...

  8. I loved your post about Parc Monceau--it so reminds me of being there a few years ago at this same time. What a lovely place! And I agree, why ever take off those glasses?!

  9. Your bowl of cherries is SUPERB..
You're so good..try as I might..my peony trial ..was dismal.
Love the kidlets too..and le pont!
    Not to mention le carousel~
In the past I have been told to never take off my rose colored glasses..
So do keep yours on forever.
Because sometimes..someone .. removes them..and then you go searching for them..and sometimes it can take time to locate them again.
Yet the fit will still be perfect..once you put them on again:)
Je veux que tu gardes tes lunettes teintées de rose!

  13. Thank You Carol to make me relive the city I love most in the world through your pictures, the colors of your beautiful watercolors and your comments delicious and often ironic.

Never take them off. Why would you? Your world and your perception of it is exactly why we read and devour your blog every day. It is the first thing I do in the morning before work. I make my coffee and a slice of toast, jump back under the covers with my 2 adorable kitties and read PARIS BREAKFASTS

  21. Love Parc Monceau and so glad you popped off the bus/Metro to make a new discovery. Not to blur the rose tint in your specs but Aimée does find a body in that elegant pillar'd former toll booth, now a WC. Have you been to the street market on rue de Levi's?

The last time we went to Paris, we arrived from Amsterdam at Gare du Nord at rush hour. The sunlight made the buildings glow a warm gold. The sky was an intense blue, traffic was moving slowly, girls on Vespas, skirts aswirl as they wove blissfully among the cars, the trees heavy with the green of summer. Paris is magical, rose colored glasses or not. You transport me there every day.

I loved the bowl of cherrie..that is wonderful....the park is great, the only one close would be Central Park
The parks in Europe are treasured more than here...they gear everything down for apts or a business...

Your pictures are so beautiful anywhere you happen to be, your artist's eye is truly a gift. :) I have been told that I view France through rose colored glasses as well. I can't help my intense love for the country, I love America too but there is something about France that pulls at my heartstrings and my soul. I hope that your experience of living in France will always nourish your artistic side and make you happy.
    Happy painting :D

I just wanted to thank you for your blog. Every morning, it is the first thing I look at, to start my day happy! I am so glad your "rose-colored" glasses are still on. But really, they could be any color, as nothing can't taint Paris's beauty (or most any of France's).

  31. Your rose coloured view is marvellous Carol, what a wonderful impromptu decision you made. I haven't made it to Parc Monceau yet, but hope to this trip. One of the reasons I love Paris is that there are so many wondrous things to see, new delights await every day.

  35. Thank you for posting these pictures. We lived close by Parc Monceau a decade ago and that was the park where my young boys used to play. Merci Bien!
