Le Luco

Le Luco' is the nickname for the Luxembourg Jardins.
When I saw ex-pat Lindsey Tramuta of Lost in Cheeseland's recent Luco post, I thought, me too, me too!
What to wear in Luco on Sunday?
The obligatory striped shirt
A short ruffled piquet skirt
And RED SHOES!
"Take off the red shoes", Moira Shearer said at the end of the film.
Le Luco strollers are not snoozing...
Orientation maps of Luco are everywhere.
And most helpful.

Smiling is allowed in Paris (on Sundays only).
Tai Chi is always allowed.
 As is jogging in Paris.
crunch...crunch...crunch
 Lounging is more prevalent.
Why ever is a bench called a 'un banc'?
What do you call a bank?
Depart le Luco out the (west or east?) gate - Dalloyau awaits you with au bon gouter at 2, Pl Edmond Rostand 75006
I hope you all had a JOYEUSES PAQUES!
I'm off to get my red Repettos resoled for my trip.

  1. What a relaxing way to start my day.
Let's see, Carol. Red shoes, red glasses...
Next you must get a red cape, with a big macaron embazoned on the back, to match the one that will be on the front of your "MACGIRL" costume.
Somewhere along the way you must find a retired super-hero, who can teach you to fly.

  6. That is one thing the French know how to do and that is how to add a little pizazz to their look! A pair of red shoes and bright red lipstick and they are ready to go!

  7. Useless fact of the day. Did you know Repetto's are made in the Dordogne? I never knew that until I was listening or reading or something about them and apparently they are expanding.

"Banc" is Paris abreviation-speak for "banquette", meaning "bench".

Do you find your Repettos to be comfy?

Did you buy them in Paris or NY?

    1. Yes they're so soft, so very comfy.
But they do need to be re-soled or they won't last very long.
I caught mine on sale at Galerie Lafayette on Jour du Macaron day 2 years ago.
It was a double win since I won the full box of 36 Pierre Herme macarons
      TOP OF THE WORLD!

  11. In Hemingway's "A Moveable Feast" he mentions the Gardens several times. It was one of his favorite places to walk - to clear his head - and as a shortcut to get back home from the cafes.

Those red shoes are amazing! I love Paris! I visited the city last summer and it was the best three weeks ever! My sister and I just explored the whole city. We did alot of the touristy things like climb the Eiffel tower, the louvre and so much more but my favourite thing to do by FAR was sit in the Luxembourg gardens, with a freshly baked baguette with some authentic french brie and people watch from under my sunglasses! Utter bliss!! :)
