Angelina!

Tarte au chocolat at Angelina, original art, 9" x 12"
Brought back by popular request...
It's been a while since we dropped into Angelina non?
Don't forget you'll have to stand on line unless you go by 10am...
But that gives you a chance to survey the territory...
And what nice territory it is too...
Even postcards of that territory are highly desirable...
At least until the REAL thing comes along...
ALL of it puhleeeze!
OK! Time for serious research and dissection...
This is NOT my table. I only inhaled a bit...
Besides I don't like whipped cream. It's the TRUTH!
Someone (not me) is filling up this big bag with even more Angelina goodies!
Fill her up I say!
BONJOUR ANGELINA!

  3. Ah, I found myself making some very odd noises while reading this post. I must stop drooling. Poor me, I was eating a granola bar and M&Ms while reading this post. Didn't quite match up to Angelina. sigh.

  7. Scrumptious - your watercolors AND photos! Le comble du chic! (But no caveat about how the service can be a tad abusive?)

  8. Beautiful Angelina painting!

Could that concoction with the whipped cream at the center be made of purée de marrons spaghetti?

Hmm, gorgeous. Looks so yummy. Do Parisians actually eat there? Or is it just for show? How do they stay so thin?

  14. Angelina, une véritable institution parisienne pour....les touristes! I never go there; there are too many people waiting in line! That frightens me!

Back in the day the mont blanc had the cream on top.. like a mountain.. I like this presentation much better...

  18. As always, I really find your paintings charming.
I just wish though, that the pitcher were facing into the picture, rather than out.

    Seulement une petite chose.
    Qu'en pensez-vous?

    Amusez-vous,
    Janis

  20. Finally, we see eye to eye! "Non" on the Mont Blanc...though I do adore whipped cream...I think one must be French for chestnut to truly delight.

  21. LOL--too funny. I also adore whipped cream--are you kidding? I could whip up a bowl and eat the whole thing plain! It's a sin. But what a way to go. I love that watercolor--the red and white are so fresh and lovely to me. Beautiful, Carol!
