More Paris Buildings and Monuments

Opera Garnier Paris 75008, 5" x 7"

We're out walking again - this time Place de Opera...

The Paris Opera is just as yummy as a piece of cake...
And in fact it is a piece of cake.
Dalloyau celebrated this cakes birthday last year...

Multi-layered, coffee buttercream-filled, Kahlua-soaked...
OPERA CAKE!!!
The Monuments of Paris: an illustrated guide by Michel Poisson is a great cource if you like to pour over the details and history of the all the Paris monuments and architecture - 464 pages of details and maps. If only it were lighter so you could bring it along...C'est la vie

    Always a delight.
Have fun in Paris--wish I was there too.
    Best,

  2. The perfect combination of parisian buildings + watercolour (apart from a visit to Paris Breakfasts, that is :-) is the Paris' sketchbook by Fabrice Moireau.

Would rather be there today than here (working).
Parisians do have a way with scarfs.

Have you seen the site with the doors of Paris?
Walk down St. Julien de Pauve from the Seine and look to your right above some of the doors. You'll see a scallop shell.
That indicates the dwellers within have made the pilgrimage to San Juan de Compostela.
    You probably knew this.

I'm sure this has already been suggested...how about putting all your new paintings into a "coffee table" book. I'd love to see them altogether. I think it would be a best seller!

  9. I love this painting Carol! Are you using a different style of painting or type of paints? I've loved everything you've done, but your recent paintings look different somehow. At least to my untrained eyes. Very nice.

Oh and I love the widgets that you find for your blog. I've been adding the same ones! ; )

  12. Nothing better than having a hot chocolat in the cafe opposite the Opera and people watching as you sip.
