On 5th Avenue

The Wrapup, watercolor on Etsy, sold 5.5" x 7.5
Bill Cunningham did a wonderful commentary in the Sunday New York Times on 5th Avenues Xmas windows, so I went out for another look....
I forgot to show you the BIG star on the cross section of 57th and 5th Avenue...
And the lighted trees in front of The Plaza Hotel...
YIKES! The Big Tree at Rockefeller Center!
How could I miss that?!
Cartier's has opening and closeing drawers full of diamond treasures....
Chess anyone at Bergdorfs?
A little night music?
Ah, to be a Queen in Bendels windows...
Or a mouse santa riding a fab shoe at Bendels....
And accompanied by a full mouse orchestra...
The Big red Xmas balls on Avenue of the Americas-mustn't forget those!
Or this wall of Xmas balls in Anthropologie's windows....waiting to be put away?
Here's a terrific book on New York's monuments, originally published in 1926, Up & Down New York , but still timeless.
And don't forget to pop in on Bill Cunningham's amusing chat!
HAPPY HOLS!

Love those mice, Carol! They remind me of the Nutcracker mice, and my grandfather used to take us to Lincoln Center to see the ballet every year. These all make me soooo nostalgic for the NY sights at holiday time. Thanks for bringing me back!

    Ballsy New Yorkers!
    How true is that!
We need someone to flaunt it and a very good thing it is too!!!
We'll show those Parisiennes how to do it.
Now if only we could find a half way decent macaron in ole New York...
But then try to find a decent bagel in Paris!
