Chanel RTW Fall/Winter 2024

Yesterday was bitter cold out - 43 degrees feels like 34 degrees + a chill wind.

The last Tuesday of Paris Fashion Week is always the Chanel Automne/Hiver show at 10:30 am

I got there a little bit late, running 🏃‍♀️

Like late attendees clutching their invitations

Running 🏃‍♀️ to get into the show before it starts (front view)

(Back view) at Grand Palais Éphémère.

Were guests told to wear black & white?

No one is rushing too much

Not to stop for a photo op for photographers. *Note the bow 🎀 glove things. The shiny black top looks faintly garbage bag to me. You never know what they will throw together

Chanel = bows, camellias, gold chains, quilting, tweed, double Cs

Someone dressed appropriately for the weather

‘Beauty hurts’ Brrrrr 🥶

The show lasts about 15 - 20 minutes

A Deauville theme this season

Deauville
where Coco Chanel had her first boutique, now commemorated with a little sign. C’est toute.

Enfin, the attendees

Come streaming out…

Most of them…

Looking happy and

Much less stressed…

Time to start planning what to wear to next season’s Chanel show…

Me, I was planning on a warm, steaming bowl 🥣 of Miso Ramen soup at Sapporo on 37, rue Saint-Anne Yum Yum It hit the spot 👍

What a long post!

  1. My thoughts exactly…beauty hurts but I do love the look of the heels with the camellias. Have you seen the add with Brad Pitt promoting the Chanel show set in Deauville? How do those people receive an invite to the show? 🗼❤️

    2. The acting is not the best..I love Ben Mendelsohn..but unfortunately I found him lacklustre in this. But it was discovering how awful Coco Chanel was that was the most disturbing.

Thank you for this post! The oversized hats I saw on the Youtube show version of this Chanel show were sort of silly and the smaller ones in the old picture would have been better or something in between. Still...all the tweed fabric that is made in house was lovely. Here in my area there is a tiny Chanel boutique which has a few pieces of a collection months after it is shown displayed like jewelry. These are lovely but very delicate and would not survive many wearings in my opinion. However..it would be great to see the attendees in their Chanels.

Au contraire, I think Chanel garments are supposed to last a long time.
The big hat I think was taken from a photo of Coco herself in a striped mariner top & loose navy pants…I vaguely remember something…

Such a waste of some beautiful Chanel pieces…many crazy combos! But then many of them are obviously trying to attract attention with their bizarre outfits. Ho-hum.

Even in December, in very cold weather, I saw many skinny little things in micro-mini skirts on the streets of Paris. The ‘look’ is apparently more important than not getting pneumonia!

I love when you take us along to these shows! ❤️

I agree that many so-called ‘lewks’ totally lack the style required.
There is a reason stylists exist.

I particularly like the end shot of 8’ folding tables as a plank leading to a houseboat inventive but you’d never keep catch me walking on it. Oops. Annie

Plus the leap from the boat to the planks is treacherous !!
