Tuesday was opening night of SALON DU CHOCOLAT 🍫!
‘Getting ready to think about Christmas’ food fairs in Paris.

Fortunately, my partner in crime, dear SOLLI was there to help out.
Next day I was going to see Bonnie & Bob in La Rochelle just for the day. Have you been?
The much-admired Dubai praliné pistache you see all over Paris (€€€€€). Very Yummy. We’re not saints after all.
If you can’t make it to the Salon, my Paris Chocolate Map is on Etsy waiting for you.
I’m tempted to run back today to see what’s going on…and fto taste some actual chocolate samples ☺️

Hi Carol, are Dubai chocolate bars big in Paris? I adore chocolate and pistachios, but was underwhelmed by the Dubai Chocolate bar I tasted. Maybe it was just the brand. Margie
ReplyDeleteThe Dubai chocolate bars are at EVERY cash register in every supermarché in Paris for like 19€! I enjoyed it enough.
DeleteAbsolument délicieux. Gros bisous. Isabelle
ReplyDeleteGrand Merci Isabelle 🍫
DeleteNow you have me craving chocolate Carol. I would have had trouble not sampling too many chocolates. Good you had a plan and stuck to it. I also would have had to sample to Praline Pistache since I love pistachios with chocolate. Hope your able to go back to sample a few other chocolate delights. -Suzanne P.
ReplyDeleteI went back today and samples TOO MUCH CHOCOLATE 🍫,
DeleteYum!!!! You are so sweet to share your loot with friends!! Can’t wait to introduce my daughter Linnea (From Linnea in Monet’s Garden) to Parisian chocolate and hopefully, sweet Parisian Carol! I’ve sent my husband on the hunt for sardines! 😘from🇨🇦❤️

ReplyDeleteOh my, Carol! Merci bien!! That huge baggie of chocolate powered us all the way from La Rochelle to Paris today! It was our bedtime snack last night, breakfast this morning, lunch, and snack on the train! 😋 And, we’re going to the Salon du Chocolat tomorrow! 🤯🍫
ReplyDeleteOh Boy! My post made me HUNGRY a& I went back and ate myself silly !!
DeleteI so look forward to this post every year-I think I’ve been to half the chocolate shops in Paris but the Salon would be the icing on the cake.
ReplyDeleteMost of the chocolate companies are from OUTSIDE Paris…so it’s more fun that way…especially downstairs from South Americas, Africa, Far East!
DeleteThere is nothing I like better than chocolate! This would be a dream come true!
ReplyDeletePlease come back during October CAROLYN 🍫 ❤️
DeleteLooks tasty as always! I’ve been eating a bit of chocolate these last few days, maybe in sympathy with you, ha ha. I should have a day off though…
ReplyDeleteI can almost smell the chocolate! Brilliant!
ReplyDeleteI heard on our public radio in 🇺🇸 the other day that there is a world shortage of chocolate. I don't want to be a Debbie Downer but i am sure there was no sign of that! People can look it up for themselves. 🇺🇸 candy makers are changing out the way they are making some of their candy.
FYI The real issue is a global cocoa shortage caused by factors like poor weather, disease, and fertilizer shortages in major cocoa-producing regions like Ghana and Ivory Coast. This has led to dramatically increased cocoa prices, which in turn affects the availability and cost of chocolate products.
