What Bag to Wear in Paris

3 Hollywood starlets with Fr purses American celebrities like to carry whatever Parisian IT $$$$$ bag is IN.

According to Vogue, ‘There’s a certain cool girl look’ Parisians have down pat. From perfect Breton stripe shirt to classic cigarette pants, Fr girls claim some of the chicest staples in a working wardrobe.

Young woman carrying 3 shopping bags
Hmm…Fr girls haven't heard about it. Most sling a cotton tote bag over their shoulders bearing a logo or message. This Frenchie has 1-2-3 bags.

On the other hand a Vanessa Bruno bag is ‘evergreen’. They never go out of style.

So is Longchamp classic weekend bag. I’ve gone through 4 of the smaller ‘pliage version. Not built to last…
Yellow handbag with paint splashes
From a distance I thought this bag had a MAP ๐Ÿ—บ️ OF PARIS on it. Just Jackson Pollock paint splashes up close by Zadig & Voltaire. Big disappointment.
Graphic shopping bags with letters
Le Bon Marche had graphic message tote bags. I saw a Fr girl with a bag that said,
"I Forgot Whatever You Wanted" ๐Ÿ˜‚
A New York Rizzoli book bag on the Metro - trรฉs chic.

Totes or shopping sacs are legitimate ‘billboards’ for logos, fun sayings, splashes of color. Handbags, purses, cross-bodies could be an entire post on their own! I prefer a cross-body when traveling to keep my important things close.

    Love the doggie bags! ๐Ÿ˜Š

The Paris fashion scene is still a disappointing sea of navy blue and black. Hopefully the warmer weather will bring out some creative color!

Another great glimpse into Parisian culture. I love seeing Paris “doggie culture”. Whenever I have visitors Paris, I couldn’t help but photograph the lucky Parisian dogs who get to effortlessly travel around the city with their owners. I do appreciate the French ability to pull off a low-key and simple style (like with cloth bags) as opposed to the sometimes gauche American logo obsession.

The French truly embody that Je ne sais quoi when it comes to effortless style. Maybe tourists shouldn't be so anxious about what to wear to blend in and just wear what's comfortable and throw on a cloth bag, haha!

Boy do I agree on that! Tourists try too hard to ‘look’ Parisian and miss the boat ๐Ÿšค completely, usually overdoing brands and overdressing.

You really know how to bring to us the sights and sounds of Paris not found anywhere else. It's about your quirky, artistic eye in my opinion. You don't go into "over serious" mode. Just one cool artist who has become our friend and go-to cultural guru. Merci.
