American celebrities like to carry whatever Parisian IT $$$$$ bag is IN.
According to Vogue, ‘There’s a certain cool girl look’ Parisians have down pat. From perfect Breton stripe shirt to classic cigarette pants, Fr girls claim some of the chicest staples in a working wardrobe. Hmm…Fr girls haven't heard about it. Most sling a cotton tote bag over their shoulders bearing a logo or message. This Frenchie has 1-2-3 bags.
On the other hand a Vanessa Bruno bag is ‘evergreen’. They never go out of style.
So is Longchamp classic weekend bag. I’ve gone through 4 of the smaller ‘pliage version. Not built to last…
From a distance I thought this bag had a MAP ๐บ️ OF PARIS on it. Just Jackson Pollock paint splashes up close by Zadig & Voltaire. Big disappointment.
Le Bon Marche had graphic message tote bags. I saw a Fr girl with a bag that said,
"I Forgot Whatever You Wanted" ๐
No IT bag but 3 kiddies in tow.

Thus is a post for me, Carol cuz I love bags. I have 3 LV, 6 different Longchamps and several cloth bags for shopping purposes. Plus many others. Thanks.
ReplyDeleteI guess you have a special walk-in bag ๐ closet ๐
DeleteBy the way, plastic bags are NO NO in Paris.
ReplyDeletePlastic supermarket bags were Outlawed a couple of years ago, but in the marchรฉ…Hmm
DeleteLove your photos, Carol. They put a big smile on my face. I'm a bag saver!!
ReplyDeleteThank you ❤️ And I Love getting rid of bags ๐
DeleteLove collecting logo cloth shopping bags. As a matter of fact ,love collecting bags.
ReplyDeleteTotes or shopping sacs are legitimate ‘billboards’ for logos, fun sayings, splashes of color. Handbags, purses, cross-bodies could be an entire post on their own! I prefer a cross-body when traveling to keep my important things close.
ReplyDeleteLove the doggie bags! ๐
Cross-body bags are very hard to find here ๐ in my experience
DeleteHmm…my Chloe and Chanels are cross-body…and they’re French. Go figure.
DeleteBL
CHANEL & CHLOร would definitely have it…but not for my pocketbook €€€€
DeleteLove your photos of people-on-the-street. ❤️
ReplyDeleteSolli calls them, ‘A Carol picture’ ๐ธ
DeleteThat last little family:) Wheat hair:) I love people shots too:)
ReplyDeleteThat was at square de la Place Dauphine Monday morning. One of those ‘Decisive Moments’ shots. Just lucky ๐
DeleteThe Paris fashion scene is still a disappointing sea of navy blue and black. Hopefully the warmer weather will bring out some creative color!
ReplyDeleteI did show The Real Emily in Paris’ PINK coat…and saw lots of other bright winter coats. Do you live here?
DeleteAnother great glimpse into Parisian culture. I love seeing Paris “doggie culture”. Whenever I have visitors Paris, I couldn’t help but photograph the lucky Parisian dogs who get to effortlessly travel around the city with their owners. I do appreciate the French ability to pull off a low-key and simple style (like with cloth bags) as opposed to the sometimes gauche American logo obsession.
ReplyDeleteI so agree with you Stacia ๐
DeleteThe French truly embody that Je ne sais quoi when it comes to effortless style. Maybe tourists shouldn't be so anxious about what to wear to blend in and just wear what's comfortable and throw on a cloth bag, haha!
ReplyDeleteBoy do I agree on that! Tourists try too hard to ‘look’ Parisian and miss the boat ๐ค completely, usually overdoing brands and overdressing.
DeleteYou really know how to bring to us the sights and sounds of Paris not found anywhere else. It's about your quirky, artistic eye in my opinion. You don't go into "over serious" mode. Just one cool artist who has become our friend and go-to cultural guru. Merci.
ReplyDeleteThank you!
DeleteI don’t think there’s a serious bone in my body ๐ฅณ
What a fun post! 2 bags I bought last time was a pink one from Homer by Janet sandwich shop and a canvas LV from the LV museum. At under 100 euros the only affordable LV!
ReplyDeleteI’m Big on Janet’s cole slaw ๐ I noticed their pink bags recently
DeleteAn LV bag under a C note? Maybe it was a typo?? You’re lucky ๐ day Cindy ๐
love the black and white stripes and the multiple tote bags....i've never been a "designer" bag kinda girl ....love seeing what parisians are wearing....the usual....jeans and black something or other ....<3
ReplyDeleteMe too. Anyone with dough can wear a LEUK…it takes ingenuity to look interesting
