The Paris Walk

Drawing by Rick Tulka Drawing by Rick Tulka

I mentioned Rick Tulka's Walking Man previouslyI've been seeing "walking Parisiens".

Everywhere I go
During Paris Soldés/sales, so much striding
Paris moms do it. It's a straight-legged gait. Is this be the clue to Why French Women Don't Get Fat? & not eating leek soup 🥣 6X a week?
Perfect example on a takeaway/émporter coffee cup ☕️
A rather extreme example by Lisa Fonssagrives..
OK, toes together. Get readyStride PBers!
(I hung out a loo window at Angelina's on rue de Rivoli for this shot :-()
Even while leche-vitrine/window browsing pastry shop windows, Parisiens do the stride stance.French men do it while snacking in the street. Bon Appetite!
Paris waiters do it when standing still.

BONJOUR PARIS WALK!

Isn't there a marked resemblance to the Charles de Gaulle France 🇫🇷 monument?
A lone French strider at l’Arc de Triomphe

When my husband began suffering from foot drop, I started this “therapy” with him. We practiced doing the “Paris Walk”, stiff legged, striding forward. It worked quite well for a while! And where had I seen it? In your photos, even back then, of course!

Such a long, no-nonsense stride! I’m sure walking everywhere helps keep the weight down. Along with all the stairs in the metro and all those stairs in ancient apartment buildings without elevators! Someone is living on the 6th and 7th floors!

Love your Arc de Triomphe watercolor! ❤️
