Circus Baobab, Crepe ร  l’ล“uf, Fete du Pain

Yesterday, after the pool ๐ŸŠ I thought I’d pop into Centre Pompidou,

Nearby I heard a tremendous roar. I ran๐Ÿƒ‍♂️ to see what the excitement was about & forgot the museum ๐Ÿ˜‚ I did NOT get any good pictures ๐Ÿ˜ต‍๐Ÿ’ซ
A bunch of 13 acrobat performers encircled by an excited crowd of passerbys near the Fontaine St Phalle. 13 street children trained
in the performing arts by the best African and French professionals, 13 artists aged 18 to 30. (Picture taken later)

I was starving as usual after the pool and on impulse decided to get a crepe from the venders around Pompidou

I ordered the simplest crepe, something you won’t see in nicer Brittany restaurants in Montparnasse - Crepe Salรฉe ร  l’ล“uf.
I asked for it to be ‘bien cuit’/well cooked.
The cook breaks an egg on the crepe
Spreads it very thinly using a palette-knife tool
Adds sel et poivre
Folds it over, giving a couple of taps to make it bien cuit
Et Voilร  a quickie, delicious, possibly healthy snack and no sugar!

This morning I tried this for breakfast ๐Ÿณ but using a Sarrasin/ buckwheat crepe.

So easy & Yummy ๐Ÿ‘ ๐Ÿคธ๐Ÿพ‍♀️
I added grated Parmigiana + Persillade. You could add ham or anything else your heart ❤️ desires. Filling and healthy.

I was on my way to the annual May Fete du Pain at Notre Dame, passing through Hotel de Ville. The acrobats were setting up to perform again! ๐Ÿคธ๐Ÿพ‍♀️ ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘

Circus Baobab - a collective of circus artists  c
reated in 1998 in Conakry, Guinea in West Africa.

Their show is a dynamic mix traditional African dance

Plus street dancing and Hip hop

This group is tremendous. They competed in the annual 4-day
42nd Festival Mondial du Cirque de Demain. I am definitely not missing this next year. WATCH & be amazed.

Krumping
with circus clown art is a part of their act. They perform free to the public in various sites around town.
Krumping evolved into a popular Street Dance in South Central, LA. Isolating body parts so one body part is rigid, while the other is Swinging, Stomping, or Popping

Circus Baobab is doing evening performances at La Scala through June 10 and I am going.

Finally I got to Fete du Pain ๐Ÿ˜‚ ๐Ÿฅ–

If you want to buy a baguette ๐Ÿฅ– fresh out of the oven the Fete du Pain is the place to be

It’s on through Sunday.

Many MOF chefs (with the blue, white, red collars) are onboard for baking demonstrations

The rest of toute Paris was lined up patiently at Berthillon

You’ll need the Paris Map ๐Ÿ—บ️ for a weekend ice cream cornet ๐Ÿฆ
๐Ÿคธ๐Ÿพ‍♀️  Have a Great Joyous Weekend PBers  ๐Ÿ‘
๐Ÿคธ๐Ÿพ‍♀️And get up and Krump ๐Ÿคธ๐Ÿพ‍♀️

      Thanks Bonnie,
You walk out the door ๐Ÿšช with no idea what awaits in Paris.
Oh why did I buy those craps at the market today?

There are quite a number of good/excellent places to get ice cream or Gelato around Paris. I won't wait in that long line. Yes, it is good. Is it so much better than Grom or Pozzetto - no Amorino - yes

.The French are much better at waiting for things than most other people.
It’s a bigger mystery than how French women are thin (which they aren't so much these days anyways...).
A book ๐Ÿ“• is waiting to be written on the French expertise at waiting patiently in an orderly manner.
      Leรงons learned in childhood?

It’s a Parisian ritual to get ice cream ๐Ÿฆ at Berthillon on the weekend on l’รŽle Saint Louis.
      Like a religion.
      No other place will do.
      Is it nostalgia?
      Childhood memories?
      Loyalty?
      A French tradition?
      The attachment to things past…

I think I would like theFete du Pain!!! What is not to love when it comes to pain!! I would take that over ice cream! I too love how you can walk out the door in Paris and never know what you are going to see!

Yes, the adventure of the unknown in Paris,
with none of the dangers like “Indiana Jones and the Raiders of the Lost Ark."
Relatively safe and usually charmant ๐Ÿ˜Š

  9. Great entertaining troupe. I've loved the Fete du Pain every time I've been to Paris in May. That crepe looks great - I'd love to try and make it but don't think Ican find pre-made buckwheat crepes. The best crepe I ever had in Paris came from a cart on the Pont de Arts - go figure, but I've always found street crepes to be good.
