Le Cordon Bleu, Salon de la Patisserie

 

Back in February, I got a request for 10 chocolate 🍫 letters 💌  

From Taste of Paris

Instead of mailing the letters from Paris, 

Lorie asked me to present them at their group luncheon

What a thrill it was to see my letters 💌 being ripped opened 

Happy faces! 😊 Something I usually can only imagine

We met for lunch at excellent La Maison de Jardin (close to the Luxembourg gardens).

We all got the delicious ‘Formule’ menu (29€).

For entré/starter I had Moules de Bouchot marinées, creme au Reblochon, which sounded odd (cream & mussels?) but was divine. My main was sea bream with lentilles(lower left). Dessert was classic chocolate mousse. I definitely recommend La Maison 👍

I was sitting next to Lorie. 

I mentioned I’d just come a presentation that morning at Le Cordon Bleu HQ (all in French at 9:00 am)

For upcoming June Salon de la Patisserie. 

I was doodling ✏️ the chefs…

In 2013 I went to the old Cordon Bleu for a Portes Ouvres/Open door 🚪 visit. 

It was quite different back then

Lorie said she trained at Le Cordon Bleu 🫕

👏 This is not an easy cooking school at all.

Le Cordon has a terrific gift/boutique shop. I got tea and cinnamon with vanille.

And Apricot jam (trop bon 😊) Plus their signature carryall. Will people think I attended Cordon Bleu? 

We’d had a mandarine tarte demo in the morning.

I ate a lovely carrot cake at the Cordon Bleu cafe My first in 10 years - moist and nutty 👍

Synchronicity in the Metro going home, this poster for new French TV program, Derrière le Tablier.

We finished our lunch with little cups of coffee ☕️ I was busy posing the cups for future possible watercolors comme d’habitude. 

I ran 🏃‍♂️ to get the bus. Comme d’habitude, it arrived immediately 👍 Bus Lucky 🍀  I went home and collapsed 😊
