Ice cream break, Jump Break

I’m so happy 😊 to hear from so many missing PBers who are back receiving Parisbreakfast YAY👏😊🤸‍♂️ By the way if you shoot a Selfie in a moving elevator, the results will be less frightening and nicely blurred👍

Yesterday after a dip in the pool🏊‍♀️ 🏊‍♀️I had 2 dips of ice cream(mango/passion fruit gelato and Vanille Madagascar). Get ready for the Jump break/read more button . It will take you to the rest of this post.

Look! Scandalous prices for Berthillon ice cream in the Marais. Shocking.

I checked out brand new Reÿs - Glaces Eternelles on Place du Bourg Tibourg (Marais).

Their très chic server.

And très chic ice cream flavor names: Walk in Bangkok, Indian Wedding, Cuban Dream, Cretan Tsatsiki, Dragon kiss.

I  got, comme d’habitude the default, not-so-plain-jane Bourbon Vanille Madagascar with a very subtle creamy texture.
Les prix bien sur. Their specialty is Sicilian-style granités (crushed-iced covered in flavored syrups).
Temps were in the high 90s on Tuesday but still Bears were out.
And the Parisians/tourists left in town, flocked to cafes.
Someone left a comment as ‘Anonymous’, which by the way, if you want to leave your name—look for a very tiny grey arrow on the right. You’ll get a dropdown menu allowing you to add your name🤸‍♂️And Thank You for commenting by the way 😊👏 🥂

So someone left a comment that “all the chocolate bars🍫 in the previous post were “Swiss, German  and from Belgium” It’s true most supermarchés carry big Euro brands but there are plenty of French 🇫🇷 chocolate bars!!🍫 Mon deux

And la Grande Epicerie has them.

Including grand daddy, Chocolat Bonnat from 1884.

More French air conditioning for you. Do try the wet T-shirt 👕 Just make sure its an old, thin one. “In order for the water to evaporate - changing its state from a liquid to a gas - there needs an input of heat energy. This energy will come from the heat of your body which produces a cooling effect to your skin, lowering your temperature”. And take luke-warm showers not icy 🧊 svp🙏

Another way to cool off in Paris - the Wallace fountains have added spritzers. Just press the silver button.

Seen in the Metro, very cooling photo displays from

Congolese photographer, Baudouin Mouanda. Did these gents get inspired to do the same to keep cool? Qui sait? Keep COOL dear PBers ❤️So happy to have you all back onboard !🤸‍♂️🤸‍♂️🤸‍♂️

Ice cream 🍨 n Paris. What could be better! Although, on my first trip there is was so HOT I ate nothing but ice cream for a day and ended up with a stomach ache. Should have smeared it on my face!

Carol! You look fantastic and it's doubtful the moving elevator is the reason.

Paris is really sizzling this summer! Stay as cool as you can. Love the ice cream shops and I worry how many of those bears there will be in landfills. I didn't know that snowballs were an Italian/Sicilian treat.

Oh boy…I will have to go back and get the granité now.
According to Wikipedia, Granita is a semi-frozen dessert made from sugar, water and various flavorings. Originally from Sicily, called granita siciliana[1] [ɡraˈniːta sitʃiˈljaːna]) is a semi-frozen dessert made from sugar, water and various flavorings. Originally from Sicily, it is available throughout Italy in varying forms.[2] It is related to sorbet and Italian ice; however, in most of Sicily, it has a smoother, more crystalline texture. This is largely the result of different freezing techniques: the smoother types are produced in a gelato machine, while the coarser varieties are frozen with only occasional agitation, then scraped or shaved to produce separated crystals. Although its texture varies from coarse to smooth, it is always different from that of ice cream, which is creamier, and from that of sorbet, which is more compact; this makes granita distinct and unique.

It’s 3:50am in California and I’m awake reading your blog. It’s fun walking the streets of Paris with you. I wonder what that Madagascar ice cream tasted like, yumm.

Ice cream solves all!! Personally, I can’t imagine “touristing” in such heat. But everyone looks to be coping well. Including you! You look cool as a cucumber in your elevator shot. Enjoy the cooler weather coming your way. ❤️

  29. Such fun to actually see your selfie! Well done, Carol! Love that the bears are out and about. It's terribly hot here in Austin. Since May!!! Hottest summer on record for us. And no rain. Your ice cream shares are tempting me. We treated ourselves to a peach milk shake this week. A meal for me!!! Stay cool and keep posting!
