Sunday in the Marais

Yesterday I finally got back in the 🏊‍♀️ Pool. And I finally got to the Christo et Jeanne-Claude exhibit at the Pompidou, which is fabulous, witty and inspiring. Don’t miss the movie if you go (and you live in Paris at the moment). Full story coming tomorrow.

PBers, Parisians are wearing their masks. Its mandatory. Except for grumpy old men...this is a universality it seems😳

Mostly they are black. Some have messages. Today I saw a woman wearing, ”PUTAIN LE VIRUS”. Oui madame. True when they are eating they take them off.

Yesterday, after the exhibit I stopped at a little Vietnamese resto, Hanoi, on 41 rue Sainte-Croix de la Bretonnerie. I need some Red Boat fish sauce. Et voila I can make this refreshing Goi Ga Bap Cai salade.

Impossible to go to the Marais without a stop into Eataly for a taste of Italia..

Plus its a good place to see what THEY are wearing...a goddess waltzing by stacks of sauce de tomate.

Long, sheer, petites fleurs printed dresses are ‘the look’ this summer in dark colors.

What to wear to Christo? Green silky pants.

Another long black dress.

The dog is not masked.

As always you can always wear all-black.By the Seine they are down to their skivies. It was hot on Sunday. I’m trying to catch up dear PBers for my long 2-week iPad hiatus. I wish it had been a vacance in Brittany... Please look in
my ETSY Shop. And Please Stay Safe PBers ❤️πŸ™πŸ»

  4. Love seeing my old stomping ground, the Marais, again. My Parisian friend said he is seeing more masks being worn regularly, too. Oh, that salad! Love the name Eataly -- very clever. Here in Lansing, MI, Mich State kids have become a walking Covid nightmare and now all students are asked to voluntarily quarantine -- like that will work. I'm going to run away back to the lake. Looking forward to your exhibit story but like Monique, I'm not a Pompidou girl -- much more the old! Great mask!

    1. The Pompidou takes getting used to. I used to feel the same way..
The interior is fabulous. Such a big high space unlike most of Paris.
The Paris views from the 6th floor are spectacular.
Keeping an open mind to new things is always a good idea..not that I’m always able to do it...ahem like the new ipad or IOSs etc.

    About the word "putain":
Very common expletive in some of the Romance languages...
In Spanish, for example: The same word, but without the last two letters.

Welcome back, Carol! We missed you.

  6. Loved this little tour - her shoes, your salad, the exhibit, gelato - what's not to love. Sorry about your ipad but bet you're now loving your new one. Leas was here this weekend & we made plane reservations for April so we're set if this Covid gets under control.

    1. Exciting news Suki! I look forward to seeing you.
Yes the new ipad is way faster, much more gigs, takes sharper pictures and has tons of frustrations when I mute it by accident or other stuff I can't figure out instantly:(()
