Thinking of Orlando this Van Gogh painting I saw in Arles immediately came to mind. One feels such despair. Still hope springs eternal things will change someday.
Yes, dear Carol, the Van Gogh painting is very expressive.
One of my friends is also very upset about what happened in Marseille, and now we have the French police couple being murdered. And Donald Trump keeps opening his mouth.
I am also concentrating on finding beauty and joy this summer, but being mindful of what else is out there.
what a profound juxtaposition of the despair of the Art and the Beauty of the Rose. Hope and Beauty V Mindless violence. Thank you. You raised my spirits and I do hope that finally, finaly We Americans will realize that our culture is being warped by an industry that is bent on Profit at any price. Our news showed a gun shop owner revealing that while his sale of "machine guns" was usually 10 a day it had escalated to 10 per hour! 10 per hour? Do these people imagine all of those innocent victims pulling out their own machine guns and opening fire? Really? That would save lives?
Very well said, Carol. Thank you for this post, honoring those that lost their lives in this senseless tradgedy. The Van Gogh painting and the perfect rose represent so much!
Your photos today are the perfect expression for our current lives. We must grasp and hold onto life's roses even while acknowledging these senseless tragedies.
Orlando Strong, Lindsay. We are with you all in thoughts, prayers and hopefully, actions of influence. We here in Colorado well know what your metro area is going through, more's the pity. Diane in Denver CO
Very appropriate. To hope.
ReplyDeleteThe VanGogh painting is a perfect description of what the world should be feeling.
ReplyDeleteSuch a powerful image of emotion.
DeleteNo wonder van Gogh appeals universally.
Yes, we are all so horribly sad that such hateful people are loose amongst us.
