The store is red dots and special Japanese designer popup shops.
There's even a place to chill between shows and go all Zen designed by Tadao Ando. The exposition is on till 18 October and ties in with the huge Hokusai exhibit just opened today at Grand Palais. Paris has gone Japanese for the duration through 18 January.
The perfect black and white Bento boxes (17€). Just add a gold chain and this could do fine at the Chanel show if you have a ticket. And look at these Chanel-esque kiddies shoes from Atsuko Matano(35€). If you have tiny feet plus a white T and black skirt/pants you could really make a statement with these two don't you think? Now the trick is how to get a ticket to the show!?
Only you could have spotted the red under her shoes:) I must admit if you have a uniform like black pj's to go everywhere..there is no worry. It's expected! Looks like fun and over the top.. Did you see Amal Alamuddin's dress when she left Venice? So pretty...to me anyways.
The blk and white bento box plus added gold chain...maybe the new popular bike chains? would definitely make a statement. not sure what but eye catching for sure.
In keeping with my trademark look of gardener-cum-painter-cum-dog-bather, I still long for the vintage Channel (now distressed) jacket you showed a while ago.
Coco Chanel, Grace Coddington, Bill Cunningham, Carol Gillott all in one post! Superbe!!!!! (Ha ha. Autocorrect tried to correct that to Superbad. Yeah. Superbad!)
I love your blog. I tend to lurk but I enjoy every bit of it. I would love to get my hands on one of the dotted bags. Do you know how long will they be available? I will be traveling to Paris later this month.
i had never thought of how entertaining it must be simply to watch the belles and the beautiful arrive at the shows until this series of posts. It's fascinating!
Now you are talking! The Chanel show...love it. The quilted bag is the only high end designer bibelot that I've ever coveted! Did you see them taking to the streets in faux protest? Style.com place it on "Chanel Boulevard." How did you find out where it was, or did you just luck onto it? Remember when we tried to find the one down past Gare de Austerlitz?
It was listed at Grand Palace. Many say just 'invitation' so they wanted the fans there drooling. The faux Manifest was Inside the building with faux backdrops
What fun to watch the attendees assemble, with their varying homages to Chanel! Glad for you and them that the weather seemed kind!
I'm a big fan of Grace Coddington and Bill Cunningham. They love seeing what fashion is up to, just as you do dear Carol, yet have got their unique style.
This is really interesting-Nature clothes its animal denizens in some very glorious arraignment, usually the male of the species but we Humans spend an awful lot of time, money and creative juices making ourselves more attractive. And you are definitely more than chic, you are attractive and more important interesting looking. One would want to talk to you because you would have something to say. IMHO
Certainly nothing wrong wih your looks Carol. Of more importance however, to quote "anonymous"..... "You would have something to say"! Wit and intelligence will top high fashion any day! Thanks for sharing this event, very interesting on so many levels.
Carol, just back from France and catching up with your blog. I never herd from youI, but see you were busy with Fashion Week. Chatou was fun. Perfect weather and not crowded. Would have enjoyed your company. Hope you get to go. It runs for two weeks. Regretting that I left one or two things behind, but se la vie. Next time……... Sad I missed meeting you this trip, but hopeful that we can meet up on a future trip. Loving your snapshots of Fashion Week…….love your blog! ~ Sarah
The Chanel lunch basket gets top prize. I love how close you got to the invitation checkers! Lovely irony. Coddington has the best idea! Wish we could have such a simple and acceptable signature look.
Even the most famous seem to say dont forget me!!! My fav this week is the Chanel homage. ..to Karl B&W jacket with long fringed white dress totally fabulous! And I love your Parisian stare at Pro photogragher! Go girl!!!!!
Mille Merci for the wonderful photos, Carol! That B&W checked jacket and fringed white dress totally fab...only in Paris! And the cheeky red bottoms flirting from the underside of shoes. "God is in the details."...
Big merci, Carol, for the whole lot of fun I had browsing through your pictures and especially reading your comments! And what a scoop, catching Bill Cunningham in the act!!!
I am in heaven! Love the Giovanna pic -her posturing so elegant like a drawing itself and the Japanese girls-so colourful-great fashion moments! Seeing this is such a relief from dull colours atm. This is totally the wrong climate but I am just craving sequins, studs and OTT
Your line drawings rock-are they watercolour or calligraphy/aqua pen?
Only you could have spotted the red under her shoes:)

DeleteI wish!! I'm feeling a bit drab after hanging out (from a distance admittedly) with the super chic...
Don't feel drab. Being chic is an individual thing.... and you've got it!

Great coverage Carol! Love that dotty bag....will head to LBM tomorrow ;-)
ReplyDeleteI'm thinking I should get a backup bag just in case I lose this one...anything dotty in Paris is a winner.

I love the idea of showing up to the show to watch the show outside of the show!
ReplyDeleteMe, I would rather not be a wanna-be outside Chanel thanks very much ;))
DeleteThanks for keeping me in touch with Paris. You are wonderful.
