Dior-Printemps Xmas

Paris Christmas windows open early November. Printemps did an homage to Dior's 1947 New Look and it's coupola.

 And the color RED!

This is a rather complicated re-iteriation of the pinched-in-waist look

 And the big full skirt.

 Definitely very ladylike indeed.

Marionette dollies dance in Printemps windows, their circle skirts twirling.

 Red...red...red!
A primal accessory is the lollipop/la sucette a big favorite of the French.

You'll need a lot of lollie to purchase these special edition Dior bags, shoes and scarves at Printemps.

Overhead a ceiling of golden lights reflect back into the windows.
Merci DIOR PRINTEMPS!

  5. I Love the feminine styles! I love the art work! I love the skaters in the window, they bring back memories of enchantment from childhood. I love the child in the last photo...and someday I will love being in Paris for Christmas...

  6. So so pretty. Wouldn't it be nice if more ladies on the street dressed like that all the time?

  7. Carol, I agree with Merisi. Somehow, Paris still can find the essence that will give our eyes a treat.

  9. Love this post. 1947 was a very good year. Nice to see what was in fashion when I was born.:)

  10. Gorgeous, gorgeous I just love the fashion of that era. I'm old enough to have worn that style myself, & to have seen my older sister wearing the earlier ones. She was a dancer and toured all over England, so when she came back home I loved to see what clothes she had bought. Love the red outfits & your sketch's are fab.
