January Diet

Will you be eating salade today? AND tomorrow?
And perhaps all of January?
Wouldn't it be nice if this month's salades could be Paris take-out from MIYOU?
Or La Cantine at Merci?
Miam...miam
MIYOU again - shrimp, quinoa, pomegranate, rocket.
Saumon + salade in St. Germain-en-Lay
I lurve Rose Bakery's mixed salade plate. Not a bad way to make up for all the marshmallows and gingerbread of December.
Is salade des fruits allowed on the January diet?

  7. I eat a small side salad every day already, and some meals it's just one big salad, so yes--I'll be eating 'em. These all look great to me! I'm a huge veggies fan. The fruit looks good, too.

A Very Happy New Year's to you, Carol, and thanks for the beautiful card--it will be hanging here in my midst, trust me...xo

If I was to be served salads like these, I wouldn't mind having JUST salad for the entire month! They are all absolutely gorgeous.

  10. Yep, that's my January diet, too. Except the salads I get from Target and Walmart just aren't quite the same as Parisian salades. Sigh. Bonjour salades! (And perhaps just a little gateau on the side. And some of that leftover chocolate. And .....

  13. for me French salades aren't a diet

they're an aesthetic experience in layering

  14. Yes! Salads and even some "juicing,"
so on those rare occasions when the light hits me in a certain way, I'll
    actually look rather beautiful.
    Well, OK;, maybe just decent.

  15. According to French Women Don't Get Fat they eat cabbage soup when the waistband becomes to snug. In the winter that appeals to me.

  17. I would not mind one bit, eating myself through all those wonderful salads! Love how they are being served, in those see-through containers, tres chic.

I made a very good salad yesterday, with Belgian and with curly endive, radicchio, slices of pears.

  20. Salads, starting tomorrow! Veggie ones, fruit ones, fruit with veggies, veggies with seafood, veggies with chicken, veggies with goat cheese, but not pasta ones, until Februrary!

  21. Ugh, starting that tomorrow when I also start my workout routine - Zumba and shadow kick boxing.
Need to get my pre-holiday figure back before graduation this June!
You've offered some delicious diet options though!

  22. Carol, your salade photos and the prior commenters are inspiring me to compose some salades myself before the end of January.

    Thank you for the inspiration.

(I continue to keep my metabolism running with all the exercise I get at the shop. Lots of territory to cover, and multiples of up and down stairs.)

    Happy New Year!

  23. I'm not much of a salad person, but these do look good!
I guess it must be the layering!

I never saw cabbage soup on the menu anywhere in Paris not once!

This cabbage soup thing is a fantasy and a bad one at that.
French women eat well all the time IMHO
