ReplyDeleteGuerlain is my favorite French brand, and I used Shalimar for a very long time. Now it was replaced by Prada. But still love the old one. I should try that Heur Bleu, just to see how it smells.

Hi Carol, I missed meeting with you when you were in Paris but you were so busy. My gallery in Cannes is going to host a huge show with Madame Guerlain and her perfume bottle collection for the summer. They're going to make a catalog. I'll email the address and event when it happens... We are going to be in Oyster Bay for the summer. IT would be cool to meet up.

Each photo was so very germane!
Under your first picture, there was such an irresistible slogan for your portraits in front of Parisian shops: "Send yourself or your spouse to Paris." Who could could say no to that?

I didn't get to the Guerlain shop on the Champs Elysees, but I did get to their little Marais shop, and to Galeries Lafayette, both of which stock Guerlain frags which you'll only get in Paris. A treat! But clearly I need to get to the flagship store; a real experience, from what I can gather. (Another recommendable experience which you've surely long since known about: The Serge Lutens Studio in the Palais Royals Gardens. I was too timid to take photos of the drop-dead gorgeous purple-and-baroque interior, but maybe you could one of these days.... Just an idea!)

MICHAEL-I don't know what a Guerlain frag is but Ithink I can imagine. Serge Lutens is altogether too intimidating and very dark, which means I should give it another whirl next trip. Will do.
