OFG, par excellance, Jacqueline de Ribes was recently awarded the Legion d'Honneur for her many years (80) of contributing to French elegance.
My OFG cousine seconde, Kristine in Pigalle, tout en bleu. This 80++ can charm anything n shoes and does it regularly to keep her skills up. We were eating at Rose Bakery. She gets up from the table and goes to chat with complete strangers, usually in their 20's and they are all smiles and giggling in no time!

Merci! I loved OFG, I have just had my very first trip to Paris experiencing Christmas and New Year and enjoyed my stroll down rue Saint Honore, at 46 would I be considered a potential OFG?? I wore my beautiful black winter coat, black boots, red leather gloves and a red beret!

And of course "French" is loaded with elegance and sensuality, and then we have the little mind-twist
of "Girl,"which implies an innocence that probably is not there, but certainly most enticing.

I really noticed how, in Paris, that people of all ages are all out everywhere: cafés, bars, shops, markets, parks etc. In America it is rare to see older people out and about mingling with the city as they do in Paris.

I love OFG! At age 62 I would like to think I fit right in on the streets of Paris but pink is my red and I don't think I would be as noticable. Have you done a page on French pink? You probably have but I'll have to look back. Love the post, Carol

ReplyDeleteI've been a reader for some time and enjoy being transported to Paris or New York for a short time everyday. Today your post was outstanding--in our Canadian & American youth obsessed cultures its refreshing to see something on these ever elegant woman "of a certain age". For those of us who don't have French mom's as mentors it's refreshing to have some guidance and a vision of what my future holds and what I want to pass on to my daughter. I'll definitely write a post for my blog and will link some time in the next week!

I have to say I don't think the American Girl has the same universal cachet as the Almighty Fr Girl.
If an AG is from CA(California)and blond and a bimbo, she has many more feathers in her cap...
