I've been desperately seeking roses in my neighborhood, Astoria...
True we have been having heavy rains. Here's a bud desperately trying to become a rose.
Some other people have all the roses!
WAIT! A budlette is trying desperately to open! You rock BUD!
I thought roses and macarons would make a good watercolor combo.
Little did I know the local roses would elude me...
Et voila! A local rose has decided to show it's pretty face. Merci!
A lack of roses meant the spoons and cherries get a SECOND ACT!

I love your blog! It's a daily dose of beauty in my life. If you have a space for roses, only in Aug. you can take a bare stem from a bush and put it in soil under a clear mason jar. It should root and grow into a bush. You could gather roses from anywhere for your garden. I've also used this method for trees.

Macs are a texture game. I wasn't crazy about the Laduree macs. Texture okay but lacked an intensity of flavor.

Bonjour Carol - just back from London, and I had a yummy surprise when I discovered a Laduree boutique at Harrod's...if I had known, it would have been my FIRST STOP.
