Enfin, Porte de Versailles and the SALON DU LIVRE 2009!
So many books and so many people looking at books.
Books on every possible subject including where to "bruncher" in Paris. We need this word in NYC.
Philosophie books for kiddies - what is life, what is happiness?
And so many children. All students get in free.
And so many children. All students get in free.
BONJOUR PB READERS!
That Mont Blanc, as we say, is good enough to sit in. Oh yum! Enjoy.
ReplyDeleteI would like to have one of these tiny books:)
ReplyDeleteBrilliant set of paintings below<3
Obviously your love story with Paris continues in the best possible way! ... and the blue sky is still there!
ReplyDeletele mont blanc chez angélina!!!

What a day! I'm loving it:) Those Mont Blancs are really something! I don't know if I could eat a whole one these days but I'd like to give it a try:)
ReplyDeleteThe scarf if by Ben Vautier (aka "Ben"), a french artist (don't know if it's him on the pic). He makes paintings and drawings and things with words or sentences. The online shop is closed for now but you can find merchandising in a lot of decoration/souvenirs shops here.
ReplyDeleteTry the Religieuse à la rose chez Ladurée :)
Enjoy your stay :)
Charming, Carol--taking us along on your exploits. I see many paintings in the works here, and fodder for additional posts. Amazing to see you making up for lost time with these Tour Eiffel pics! Cracks me up. Bonne Mercredi!
ReplyDeleteLooks like a lot of fun- AND loads of fodder for future pictures!!!
ReplyDeleteWhat is in that Mont Blanc??!!! Looks amazingly delicious!
ReplyDeleteYou must paint Jeff de Bruges store front, beautiful color combination and adorable little fellow!
ReplyDeletehmmm. oysters. What a combination: L'amour + Paris + des huîtres, if they live up to their reputation as aphrodisiacs ;-)
ReplyDeleteC'est très dangereux!
Salut!
ReplyDeleteI know where the guy got the scarf from, but I am afraid the online shop has closed down. Bloody crisis. It's a site called ben-vend-tout by an artist called ben vautier. He had all sorts of marvellous objects, some of which were to be found it shops.
A bientot!
Adine
Carol, that guy with the scarf would have been thrilled if you had asked him where he found it! The ultimate compliment.
ReplyDeleteGreat day among the shellfish...I'm so envious.
Nancy
Thank you so much for getting your splendid watercolour to me so quickly! I thought perhaps that you would not have time to send it until you got back from Paris and that would have been fine, so I was happily surprised to find it in my mail on Monday. It is now framed and hanging with your Chateau Vaux le Vicomte; a lovely pairing.
ReplyDeleteThanks again,
Charles
OMG!
ReplyDeleteI am so homesick.
If I lose my job next month I am for sure just moving to Paris for good.
I love today's pictures!
ReplyDeleteMerci
Pat
oh what a wonderful post. So much for you to paint here. I love the flower shop and the candy shop. The view of the Eiffel tower..I could go on. Won't tell you to have a good time as I see you already are. How long will you get to be there this trip? oh heck.. have fun. :))
ReplyDeleteBeautiful!
ReplyDelete"A Moveable Feast" has many references to the popularity of oysters - I wish I was there!
Dear Carol...You don´t fool me at all...I know you don´t take a break in the Bar á Huîtres for that marvellous fruits de mer dish...
ReplyDeleteYou were there for the "biére á pression"(!)
;D;D;D;D
Just kidding,it´s pure envy ;D

ReplyDeleteOnly in Paris...
Must be artistes!
TWO BITES? Is Paris wasted on you???? Please come to your senses and indulge!
ReplyDeleteAs for the doggies and the windows...the only thing they're doing is putting their slobbery nose prints on the windows! Take it from one who knows....
The scarf with french on it is probably an "oeuvre" from Ben, a french artist who uses words hand writen in white on black:

You can find some objects with Ben writing on it in many shops.
Oh la la! C'est delicieux!
ReplyDeleteWow - totally craving oysters now!
ReplyDeleteKeep up the posts, this is bliss for me.
