  5. Just bring a bag of peanuts, Carol--the birds go mad for them. Stand very still for a long time (this would be extremely difficult for you, I know this) and hold them out in your hand. "If you hold them, they will come." Love your Piu Piu and friend. They're my favorites, you know! And your love bird is great!!

I get your paris breakfasts blog each day and was wondering if you could sneak some shots of small pastry/coffee shops. I am opening a cafe in the next several months and am looking for good ideas. My place will be tiny, 720sf, but will have the kitchen and cafe in it. So if you come across any good shops that have great use of their space please snap some shots for me! Thank you, looking forward to the next blog!

    Your lovebirds are adorable!
I especially think the feet are appealing!

And we're on the same page again, since due to doing a nature-journaling demo I did last weekend, I'm can't stop painting birds this week

    Hi, Carol,
You asked where the real birds are in Paris? Surely you've been to the
Bird Market (Marche aux Oiseaux) on Ile de la Cite on Sundays? It
replaces the flower market, just on Sundays. All kinds of caged birds,
and Parisian children and their parents browsing. The sacks of all
different kinds of bird feeds are interesting, plus bird toys, etc. In
the spring, you'll see bunnies, too.
    No wild birds, though....

Do not fail to give the pigeon man at Notre Dame a euro or two. He
not only feeds the pigeons there, but if he discovers one has been
injured, he takes it home with him. I have a picture of the two of
us telling a lovely bird how magnificent her feathers are. She's
sitting on my hand (but only as long as he keeps his close)

Bring bread crumbs to the Sacre Coeur and you can literally have the
sparrows eating out of your hand.

Your Birdy paintings are so beautiful and happy Carol!! The images of your neighbor feeding the birdies is also so sweet. I so love to see such care and tenderness in people. Thanks for brightening my day (as always) :D

My 2.5-year-old daughter on her first trip to Paris this w/e was very taken with the fat ol' pigeons strutting the Parisian streets. We also saw a whole host of teeny tiny birds in the trees and bushes around the children's playground near Notre Dame, but I've no idea what they were.

Would SO love to mooch around Paris with you ... Your blog is a joy.

I think most of the birds in Paris are served on plates. :-)
