...to paint my mini Eiffel Tower is always welcome.
So when Bill Cunningham ended his weekend style report with this glowing tower...well who could resist?
Cunningham was in Paris for Fashion Week and noted the return...
Of the classic day dress...
Particularly these drapped dress made me think...
Of all the drapped fem figures you see...
All over Paris. I find myself taking photo notes of them just as much as the pastries...
But I think the real source of the return of the tailored classic dress was...
...last March's big poster plastered around town for the Paris en Colours exhibit at the Hotel de Ville. What designer could remain immune from this fabulous retro look? What do you think? Don't forget to watch Bill's show!

ReplyDeleteI am crazy for day dresses. I have many of them and they are just waiting to be worn in Paris. I had a short-lived imaginary job working for a famous painter and I was hoping she would take me with her to Paris. But, she fired me just after one day as I had extremely unreasonable expectations of being taken to Paris as part of the perks of my imaginary job.;-). I hope that the famous, beautiful, highly talented, macaron loving, Carla Bruni like painter will reconsider after hearing I have such lovely dresses and will decide to take me to Paris with her. Well???;-)

The dress has been very much on my mind lately....needed a new black tie (last time I wore one, it was 20 pounds lighter) and thought it would be nice to get a daytime dress, too. HaH! I tried on every dress in KC and then mail ordered 20 more. Found a measly 2 for my efforts. I believe I shall live the rest of my life in sweats.
