Last night I saw a Cockatoo in Bergdorf's window munching a macaron. OK, so it was not eating a macaron...
...can I help it if I see macarons everywhere? What can one do? This cockatoo was finished his macaron evidently...
Meanwhile in another window a real woman putting on makeup!? Huh?
The other windows were full of animal paintings in clothing!
The "real" gowns were pretty nifty..don't get me wrong...it wasn't all a cockatoo's surreal dream...
Ah my favorite Paris green...YUM

Sometime in the future would love to own a few of your bird paintings,,, to compliment my workspace....Joanny
i just realized you must live in new york. i just passed those very same windows yesterday -- and remember distinctly, not just because of the animal paintings, but i *love* that green dress. where do you go for pastries and other french delectables now that Fauchon has left the building? (and the building Fauchon was in is gone period.)

ReplyDeleteBRONXBEE - I go to Payard, but really there is nothing like the old Fauchon for authentic Frenchiness and maybe it's a good thing=less temptations. But if they should ever come back I would be happy as a clam! ! !

My name is Melissa. I have been searching for a pink china pattern that I saw in the 2006 movie Marie Antoinette. The only thing I have been able to find is a picture of it. I never had or even knew about "THE MACARON" until I read your blog. We went on a Baltic cruise on the Celebrity Line and everyday at 4:00pm in the bar/bakery (not the afternoon tea) they served La macaron! A different flavor every day!!! (I can credit you for 10lbs) I am hooked.....but will only try one Mac in Paris. With the cost of the macaron I can save up for another cruise if I do not imbibe!
We are planning to do almost all the side trips that you are taking. We are not going to Versailles - did it on the last two trips. We have the Museum Pass and will use it to the max.
I feel like I know you, as I bet all your subscribers do. Thank you for your fabulous art, your wonderful blog, and the sharing of your love of Paris.
If you have time a note would be appreciated - if you find any MUST DOs for my trip in April.
