ReplyDeleteBest,
Melanie
Oh my goodness. are these cool. I have to have one of thse macaron mugs. :))Love your paintings too.
ReplyDeletePastry items like this are truly my weakness. I'll be visiting every website link you have listed on today's post.
ReplyDeleteI am really craving one this a.m. I just read another bloggers report on the new Laduree bar and I am desperate to drink a Kir and eat a macaron. Le sigh!!
ReplyDeleteOoh, there is the slightest coolness in the morning air here finally. That hot cocoa is looking yummy. Almost time for Paris!!!!! Yay!
ReplyDeleteLa Belette Rouge said, I guess my arm cold be twisted to drink a kir and eat a mac
ReplyDeleteI'd rather have my macarons straight up though...
Love these! Thanks for the links.
ReplyDeleteI bought the Pierre Frey pastry tablecloth last June--it is so festive for an afternoon tea.
I´ll love to be a fan of yours at Facebook .
ReplyDeleteHave you tried to create a group ? You have great taste , I love all your posts.

ReplyDeleteCarol have a look at these paintings as there is one with macaron's in,
Jill xx
HOW do they construct those macaroon towers? What is the base, how
ReplyDeletedo they make 'em stick on?
I've done a truffle tower (short though, like 8-10" which is pretty
easy: you float the chocolate cover on a sheet of waxed paper and
mold it into a cone while you can. Glue on the truffles with more chocolate.
But maracoons would melt I'd think--or at least get broken when you
tried to remove them if you used frosting on a metal or paper tower. So,got an idea??
How perfect!
ReplyDeleteFantastic finds!!
yes-yes! more macarons!
ReplyDeletei KNOW italy is calling my name
ReplyDeletefor next spring
but
honestly...
you sure do give a case for paris.
:-)
i would want a tour by you
of Macaron shops
and
pigment places
and
stores that carry those amazing miniatures
you do so love.
what say you, missy?
giving guided tours???
LOVE LOVE LOVE your paintings! My recently late Grandmother was the only one I knew who still painted around here in watercolour! It is a hard medium for me to paint in so I will leave it up to you!
ReplyDeleteYES! Yes YES SOME PINK FLOWERS
ReplyDeleteprivate/public but you have to walk FAST!!!
These cups are so charming--they make me smile, and if ever one was appropriate for you, Carol, it's one like this! Your watercolor is lively and sweet!
ReplyDeleteOh, the Salon du Chocolat! I'm so jealous! I haven't been since 2000. Sigh. Way too long!
ReplyDeleteI walk VERY fast...
ReplyDeleteI once might have liked to have that Lenotre cup of yours with the macarons but not now! Your painted cup is sooo much better than theirs! Even if you can't drink from it.....
Salon du Chocolate...a big merci for giving me warning. I shall stock up this weekend so that I can read your posts with minimal pain and with the solace of some quality chocolate munchies to keep up my stamina. Perhaps you could publish some chocolate recipes as an aperitif before your posts?
Oh what's the use? After a second look at that chocolate macaron and the accompanying espresso (please say it's not hot chocolate!), I'm going to be hard pressed to keep up with you at the Salon....
ReplyDelete:-(
I may have to take myself away from your comments next month..as you arrive at the Salon du Chocolat, and sample the chocolate on chocalate macaron, I will be heart sunk. Damn, I wish i weren't so easy.
ReplyDeleteWe were in sync: I just posted about macarons au potiron and I come here before turning in for the night....Sweet dreams of even more macaron goodies and no wonder I love those Potiron mugs...Must get me one!!
ReplyDeleteStill no macrones here in my city, Trondheim. May be you should come up and start one. Combined bakery and paintings.......
ReplyDeleteSomeone above has said it, a Tour of Carol Gillott's Paris would be exquisite, of all your favored shops for macarons, flowers, to browse at French furnishings and clothing items, a lunch at some divine little French bistro. No, it won't be in my price range but I can dream, can't I?
ReplyDeleteWe have a new home with a very vanilla splendid kitchen with sparkling unmarred honey pine cabinets. I've been trying to decide what to do with it. I know I want to trade my warm autumn colored stoneware dishes for some clean contempo sparkling white my grocery carries, along with near an infinite line of matching accessory dishes. I also love the blue & white and have some special pieces I favor. And I know I want a large warm faux oriental rug to cover much of the cream colored linoleum. Isn't decorating fun!? I think your post as made me want to decorate with a French accent, give my new kitchen a decidely French taste. And, when the time is right, I intend to add one or two of your divine watercolors. They will be simply perfect. I wonder if there is a mail order macaron cake to be had for it's grand re-opening? Merci et au revoir dear Carol.
FUN cups! Is that a GIANT macaron... WOW!
ReplyDeleteAnd speaking of cups... I love your "Bird cup at Bernardaud" painting... LOVELY!
Oh my goodness... That last picture with the chocolate!! I was going to comment on your wonderful paintings but then I saw... chocolate... dark chocolate... coffee and chocolate...
ReplyDeleteThese cups are lovely and yummie ...Tea and macarons ...this is perfect
ReplyDeleteI dreamed of macaron last night. I had indigestion this morning
ReplyDeleteVery useful information,
ReplyDeletethanks so much for the macaron post.
