ReplyDeleteMy dear friend Abby gave me her book on Winterthur...her friend used to LIVE there and she would visit quite often back in the day, she said. Yes, can you believe it ? I drool at the gardens...such a beautiful place.

Winterthur? Cool! My folks still live in Delaware, but I haven't been to Winterthure since a class trip in high school. BEAUTIFUL countryside up there - drive around a little bit with your camera if you can.
ReplyDeleteThis was where the Brandywine School of Artists headed by Howard Pyle painted. They illustrated a lot of children's books, so if you might think it looks like the land of fairy tales, this is why!

ReplyDeleteI sure hope their plans for the lane in which the nursery is receive the support and funding needed. I can only imagine how fantastic that area would be if it were allowed to be developed according to the proposed designs.
