New York Tulips

NEW YORK'S TULIPS Tulips and Tea, original watercolor
Where are NEW YORK'S TULIPS?

Eli Zabars Flower Cupcakes
Yesterday I made a concerted effort. I turned my back on chocolate and pastries.  I turned my back on all the NY kids licking drippy ice cream cones YUM
NEW YORK'S TULIPS NEW YORK TULIPS? Where are YOU!?
Park Avenue TULIPS I found plenty I'm pleased to say.
OK so they are not as refined as their Viennese blog pals.
New York tulips have to be tough, hardy, resilient, competitive.
Much more is required than just standing around looking beautiful.
Live and learn :)
These are my new Spring tulips. Oh and a new yellow bird is onboard too.
One thing I found PLENTY of that I bet Vienna is lacking...
FRENCH RIBBON. Don't they remind you of Spring tulips? On West 38th Street I found way more French ribbon than I could lay my hands on in Paris and I looked EVERYWHERE!

  1. Methinks those ribbons were invented in Vienna. *giggle*

I love your New York city tulips, very cosmopolitan and tres chic! I have very fond memory of Park Avenue at springtime, with the dogwoods and tulips all along the median.

  3. Your tulip watercolor is beautiful! And those are always my favorite flowers. Gorgeous photos! I remember going to fabric and notion stores in NY on some of those little side streets and there were treasure troves there. I miss them, and you brought 'em back for me.

  7. I love tulips too! They have vibrant fabulous colors, and you are right, these ribbons are very similar. Here, in Greenwich Village, there are lots of tulips in the small gardens in front of the houses.

Thank you so much for taking me with you on your lovely trips to NYC and Paris. Believe it or not, my husband would not go to Paris because of the language barrier. He has however, taken me to NYC. I love EVERYTHING that has to do with Paris. I love to see your emails - they brighten my day. Enjoy this great ride you are on, and I hope life just keeps getting better and better for you.
