Le Noel

I got a newsletter today...

Announcing their specialties for Noel.
Yummy pictures were enclosed...
Look at this divine Buche de Noel covered in macarons! Mousse au chocolat, bavaroise amande, biscuit macaron orange, zeste d'orange.
And special new mini macarons encrusted with sugar...
I wish they would sell the posters to us deprived, macaron-starved non-Parisians...

The next best thing is a virtual munch..

If you ARE in Paris or London or hundreds of other places except New York at the moment, just be aware if you sit down (sur place) to eat your dozen macs it'll cost you more than if you scarfe them in the street (emporte)...

Go on, spoil yourself!

  5. I love the words describing those mini macaroons with almond cream "enrobe de sucre colore"

Enrobed in colored sugar. What a lovely phrase.

One thing I simply cannot understand, is the fascination (obsession ?) that you and many others have of macarons. What exactly is it that is so delicious about those ? I tried macarons from Gérard Mulot and Stohrer (I hope we agree, that they are both renowned patisseries in Paris) - and I still do not like them. They are so overly sweet, it gives me goosebumps and so sticky ! One must be a bonafide sugarholic to like them.....

Hi, i am a frequent reader of your blog and i am amazed by the macarons and the boxes that is used to contain them. But one bad thing is that i am in Singapore. If you ever know where that is. There is only one macaron boutique and i am kinda tired of it.
so can i find out whether you could send the macarons from Pierre Herme and Laudree to me ?
I would pay you for sure

    From the desperate macaron lover

Like you, I escape to Paris when I can physically but my soul is planted in Paris.

I adore your prose and talent as a writer and painter.

Sorry for you, anonymous, that you "simply cannot understand" the macaron thing. If you've tried Mulot and don't get it ... well, perhaps that says more about you than macarons. That's like saying, "What's the big deal with goat cheese?" Or "Who really likes Cote du Rhone wines?" Maybe Oreos or Fig Newtons are more your speed. Stay with what you know.
