Dream in GREEN

This year BARNEYS NEW YORK went the GREEN route...Remember last year I showed you BARNEYS FAB ANDY WARHOL windows..?Well last year just around this time, Simon Doonan, Barneys window designer par excellance, started to map out this year's windows and the consensus was GO GREEN Gorgeous green gifts, fabulously fair-trade fashion, sensationally sustainable swag, orgasmic organic denim and cashmere, environmentally conscious tchotchkes of all descriptions + philanthropic gestures to warm the cockles of your heart.
Here are Simon's "12 Days of Christmas"
12 tons of tofu...11 solar panels...10 new age gurus...9 organic carob bars..bla bla bla
Naturally Al Gore is not left out - plus other green celebs...
A closer look at Al..
Naturally everything in BARNEYS windows is bio-degradable.
3 rolls of recyled gift wrap...
2 FREE-TRADE futons...
1 NEW YORK unGREEN Sabrett Hot Dog Stand nearby...

  3. It's funny that in PARIS the sanitation guys and trucks have been GREEN for the longest time, even before it was chic!
    But orange?!
    What's up with that?
I'm canceling my ticket right this sec!

    Love the hotdog stand photo.
Your post that came via email to me had no writing on it or a title. Just pix this morning.

  5. Whoa! Green has gone chic! Clever clever man. NYC puts on a show and all for the price of walking...not a bad deal at all.
( I like the hot dog cart addition too. )
    All best, Jan

Funny how fashionable green can be --- especially at Barneys, home of black fashion. ... :-)

  11. Re "Orange":
Write a mail to the mayor, that this orange is nuts, really.
I am contemplating moving to greener pastures, er, waste baskets. :-(
