Happy Thanksgiving!

I wished Marie-Noelle in France a HAPPY THANKS GIVING and she emailed back this perfect turkey still life by Pieter Claesz from the Rijksmuseum in Amsterdam. See! The French are on top of everything! HTG!

The firece look on that turkey's face helps me understandm why Ben Franklin thought the turkey should be our national bird.

  7. I imagine your Thanksgiving was incredible - can't wait to hear about it. I love visiting this blog, but it wreaks havoc on my diet plans. Thanks for all of the beautiful watercolors - on a gray day here in France, (add to that transport strikes) they always remind me of what I love about this country.

  8. I'm grateful our turkey was a little less intimidating today... (it was all brined up in maple syrup and spices! Yum!)

Hope you had a great Thanksgiving!

  9. Good morning, America!
I see, it's the day after Thanksgiving. No post today? Frankly, I am a little surprise about the lack of it so far. Weren't you supposed to stand in line at six in the morning to get the superduper discount brush thingie at Walmart's Arts & Crafts Department? You could have easily posted before heading for the mall, but no, Madame's still recuperating from too much turkey.
Or have you looked at the exchange rate this morning? I almost told the guy who delivered my turkey that he had to take it bake. Figuring the exchange rate, it cost 135 US dollars! *hand me that thing and leave, quick!*
