Macarons and Cerises...

A ParisBreakfasts reader requested a birthday-macaron watercolor.
Natch I had to throw in a cherry/cerise...
My 2 favorite things to paint = macarons + cherries!
I could paint cherries all day long...
I could eat cherries all day long...
Who couldn't?
La Fille Du Consul Cerises necklaceYesteday in the mail arrived this cherry necklace I ordered from La Fille du Consul!
Now I'll have beautiful cherry models even when the season ends.
Spoons are another good painting subject -
they add that bit of essential shine...
Pierre Herme macaron doodlesMacarons are the perfect geometric shape to draw and paint.
Some macarons are more geometrically fun to paint than others...
I counted in my Flickr pictures - They said;
We found 21 results for
your photos matching CHERRIES.
We found 32 results for
your photos matching macarons
This is my favorite macaron picture.
I never even went inside :(
But I think I remember where it is...
Next trip in October, I promise to take a good look and report back the details!
Matching macaron colors...
I could do this all day long :)

Back to painting macarons and cherries...

  4. Yay, more macarons! What a beautiful necklace, too. I checked out La fille du consul, and lots of beautiful work. Necklaces and earrings that look like chocolate for example. :)

Gorgeous food, gorgeous images. I adore cherries. I had some amazing chocolate-covered ones recently.c The chocolate was burgundy-colored.

  10. Hellooo, New York (or shall I say Paris? *g*)! I am back from my fact-finding mission to at least a dozen lakes, and not one macaron. The pits! ;-)
What a lovely painting, I love your cherries (I am a cherry person, too), and "La Fille du Consul"'s cherry necklace is beautiful, as are her other treasures.
Vienna on list for October? I have already done the macaron research, and I know who makes the best and prettiest in all of Vienna (exprensive research btw, but for you ..... *smile*).

I've been reading your blog for months now and in all my trips to Paris I never noticed a macaroon! I never even heard of a macaroon. Of course, my curiosity was aroused to the point that I had to have a macaroon...a French macaroon. I spend my winters in a very ordinary town in southwestern Florida, not a macaroon for miles! But, my summers are in Minneapolis, Minnesota; much more likely to find a macaroon here. Then on Wednesday when lunching at Peters French Bakery and Deli, there they were!
I had to have one of each color. Unfortunately they weren't packed in a box (I'll ask for one next time) and the pink one was broken by the time I got it home.
There was nothing else to do but eat it. Delicious! I took a picture of the others and I am eating them slowly and with much pleasure one by one.
Thank you, Carol, for sharing your obsession.
As for cherries and spoons, did you know that Minneapolis has a wonderful Cherry and Spoon sculpture/fountain at the Walker Art Center Sculpture Garden?
I think you could find a picture of it on line without much trouble.
    Your blog is a delight.

  18. You are so charming. I love your work, how you see the word and marry the two!

  19. Ha! Tell you what. I have a deal for you. I'll make teh ultimate sacrifice. Since eating macarons all day long just cannot be good for your health or your painting, I'll volunteer to eat all those macarons after you've finished painting them!

That way you'll have more time to paint even more macarons and even more cherries! :-D

  20. This idea of painting macarons and cherries is wild. I love it. They look so well together and the candles give it that personal touch:) Great job!

Thanks for posting on my site. I appreciate it. I love Delphine's work as well.

I ate mini macaroons at a patisserie in Harrods last weekend, and the caramel version with salted butter was divine.

    I love Cherries too.
