Cruel 2 B Kind...

freefalling said the other day...
You're a very cruel person, aren't you?
Tantalizing all us poor antipodeans with the enormous variety of hot chocolate available in the northern hemisphere. I've just had to wipe the drool off the keyboard!
I thought I'd lay on the cruelty with a trowel today
Especially since I know you're still in your "jim-jams"...
That's for the Aussies out there :)
Look! These are "healthy" desserts right? All fruity...
And if you don't eat the crust like some crazy people,
these might be considered part of your daily fruit and veg quota..non?
We'll just ignore the glossy l'abricotage coating on them :)
Ok Enough of these fruity desserts you say...
I'll take my grapefruit in a bowl with a spoon, thank you very much! There's something here for everyone...
Chocolate anyone? Et voila!
CHOCOLATE GANACHE TARTE!
This is the patisserie where you can find all these divine creations on rue Lobineau.
Gerard Mulot is every bit as creative as M. Herme or J-P Hevin.
Maybe his gateaux look more traditional but they are right up there with Paris' best!
And now a snack / gouter for the blogger posting this drool-worthy post..
Click on this picture and jump in.
The water's (Tarte au Citron) fine :)

  1. Thank goodness, I just had coffee with a slice of home-baked lemon square (yup, now you know what I did last night *g*), you are very very wicked!!!!!!
While her in AUStria, I am already in after-lunch mode, I don't think the AUSsies are still in your "jim-jams" by the time you post: They are back in their JJs! Unless the world turns the other way, on your side of the coast.
(Had to feed the UPS guy a slice of my lemon bars, while he was waiting for my printer to finish whatever he wanted to carry off. Life's tough. I was in my apron, btw. *sigh*)

Carol, today I really could eat your post.
Those incredible tartes aux fruits can only come from my beloved Gerard Mulot.
I use to go swimming to the Marché de Saint Germain swimming-pool up the street.
    And I bought shoes nearby.
I would walked by the Gerard Mulot´s vitrines and enjoyed all his fantastic chocolates lined up like soldiers and all those incredible textures and colours.
Thank you,Carol, today it's a grey day and your post has turned it into a bright one for me ;D

    Carol,

Thanks for the lovely photos. So, I gather that you live in Manhattan and travel to Paris often? How often do you go there? Your pictures are so numerous, either you go to Paris every weekend or you must take millions of shots when you're there!

    Thanks again.

I do live in Manhattan way too much of the time.
But I make very good use of my time when in Paris...
    I shot non-stop
"I am a Camera" so to speak :)
Believe me if I could figure out a way to be there once a month...
    well I'm working on it..!

Well, here I sit in my PJ's at 5.00am in the morning (Australian time)and I don't know whether to laugh or cry.
The word "cruel" strangely enough does come to mind again!
This time it is that lemon tart that is doing it. Lemon tart is my all time favourite dessert!
I can't wait til my husband gets out of bed so I can torture him with your photos - his sweet tooth is even bigger that mine. Paris pastry shops are his idea of nirvana ie:"the highest happiness".

  8. This is like having your cake and eating it too. I cannot make up my mind, which I would dive into first, given the chance.
