While we're missing/ mourning/ obsessing over Fauchon, we mustn't forget their beautiful tea salon...
I only visited 3-4 times... QUELLE DOMAGE! The first time for petit dejeuner..pretty gorgeous you have to agree.
The second time I visited for Afternoon tea service = just loverly! And almost better than afternoon tea at the Paris branch believe it or not!
So many tourists! :)
Although they do have the PINK STAIRWAY there...
The Fauchon shop beside the salon had a wall of tea varieties!
And banks of beautiful chocolates!
I got one of those chocolates with my bill in New York...
In Paris, I just got the l'addition / bill :(
Don't worry. I finished that chocolate!

Maybe I'm just in a 'pink' mood, or maybe your glorious pink wash just sends me over the top -- either way -- these last several PINK paintings, Carol, are absolutely DIVINE!!! Now, cara, where are the CARDS that I can order with these on them????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????

ReplyDeleteThis post started a panic attack, though, until I scrolled through enough of your posts to learn that the Paris Fauchon was still alive and well. I mean, once La Samaritaine was allowed to close, anything is possible.
My condolences to you--I understand your loss. I will be back for more looks at your lovely blog!

ReplyDeletei don't think you should be too upset about fauchon. It was all over for me quite a long time ago, it has got touristy and lost its magic. Laduree is really more divine and all those other places you have painted. have you ever been to Fouquet, they don't do tea but for the jams, bonbons, pepercorns, chocolate powders and their divine shop on rue de Francois 1er. Now that would be a loss. x rita

Very pretty and there's another branch in the 9th..
But the New York Fauchon was our own Parisen emporium, plus tea salon.
More conveniently located than Fouquet...
my favorite place to buy tea in Paris-your artwork is wonderful...

I know how costly printing is, but if you use CafePress.com or a similar company, you'll be able to create and sell your beautiful artwork as cards sooooo easily. And it sounds like you've got a ready-made audience who'd love to buy them.
Just a suggestion! Thanks for tweaking my memories with your delicious images and writing.
