Fauchon's Salon de The...

Afternoon tea at Fauchon... While we're missing/ mourning/ obsessing over Fauchon, we mustn't forget their beautiful tea salon...

Petit Dejeuner at Fauchon I only visited 3-4 times... QUELLE DOMAGE!
The first time for petit dejeuner..pretty gorgeous you have to agree.
The second time I visited for Afternoon tea service = just loverly!
And almost better than afternoon tea at the Paris branch believe it or not!
So many tourists! :)
Although they do have the PINK STAIRWAY there...

A wall of Fauchon tea tins The Fauchon shop beside the salon had a wall of tea varieties!

Banks of Fauchon chocolates And banks of beautiful chocolates!

The bill at FauchonI got one of those chocolates with my bill in New York...
In Paris, I just got the l'addition / bill :(

A last Fauchon chocolateDon't worry. I finished that chocolate!
Oh...sigh...remembrances of things past...

  1. Maybe I'm just in a 'pink' mood, or maybe your glorious pink wash just sends me over the top -- either way -- these last several PINK paintings, Carol, are absolutely DIVINE!!! Now, cara, where are the CARDS that I can order with these on them????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????

Your watercolors prove you don't need to drink tea to paint it délicieusement. Thanks.

Just found you blog thanks to Anita at Dessert First. Beautiful!

This post started a panic attack, though, until I scrolled through enough of your posts to learn that the Paris Fauchon was still alive and well. I mean, once La Samaritaine was allowed to close, anything is possible.

My condolences to you--I understand your loss. I will be back for more looks at your lovely blog!

There are four basic food groups: milk chocolate, dark chocolate, white chocolate, and chocolate truffles. Love your watercolor today!

  9. I really appreciate all the commiseration!
And the condolence cards are piling up so I can't see my new Fauchon jam collection..
    This is a good thing.
I'm trying very hard to hide them from myself.
One more day to go of Fauchonerie and then I'll call it quits and give up wearing pink. I promise.

i don't think you should be too upset about fauchon. It was all over for me quite a long time ago, it has got touristy and lost its magic. Laduree is really more divine and all those other places you have painted. have you ever been to Fouquet, they don't do tea but for the jams, bonbons, pepercorns, chocolate powders and their divine shop on rue de Francois 1er. Now that would be a loss. x rita

  12. Rita,
I've been to Fouquet on 22 rue François Ier..
Very pretty and there's another branch in the 9th..
But the New York Fauchon was our own Parisen emporium, plus tea salon.
    More conveniently located than Fouquet...

Carol, I'm loving your Pink Period. The painting in today's post is beyond beautiful. I also love the photographs of Fauchon. Thank you for sharing these images with us.

By the way, I do hope you're eventually able to do note cards of your paintings. I'll be the first in line.

Being Pink and feeling blue. How sad that Fauchon is closing in NYC. Doesn't seem fair really?
Your paintings stir up memories and recreate a pace that we all seem to want, yet let it rush by.

oh what a delightful blog! I've recently come back from Paris and in my idle moments do searches looking for blogs to keep my memories sharp ... your work is beautiful and your words so down to earth and friendly - thanks for that!

By the way, I just read your comment:

"ParisBreakfasts said... I wish I could do note cards of these... It's too costly unfortunately :("

I know how costly printing is, but if you use CafePress.com or a similar company, you'll be able to create and sell your beautiful artwork as cards sooooo easily. And it sounds like you've got a ready-made audience who'd love to buy them.

Just a suggestion! Thanks for tweaking my memories with your delicious images and writing.

    Ciao ciao
    Teena!
