Put a Camellia on it, Chanel Auction/Bonhams Saint Cyr

ON ETSY
I
missed out on Chanel at Fashion Week in January

So Yesterday I went to gawp
At the preview of Chanel Auction at Bonhams

6, Avenue Hoche, 75008

The preview is still on today.

RUN! 🏃‍♀️ 🏃‍♂️ 🏃‍♀️

And the auction is tomorrow,

Thursday 19 Février,

12:00 CET

A curated collection of Chanel pieces

From 1995 to 2023.

367 items — including dresses,

Coats, cashmere,

Jewelry,

And accessories.

All designed by Karl Lagerfeld & Virginie Viard.

What to wear to a CHANEL AUCTION? Your Chanel bag of course 👍

I was smitten by details like cuff treatments and signature buttons,

Every one created differently for each jacket 🧥

This swath of Chanel Camélias was swoon-worthy, but I didn’t dare check to see if you could buy them individually…

Instead I looked into 🔎 Chanel’s obsession.

It is said 13 year old, Coco adored Sarah Bernhardt in La Dame Aux Camélias.

In 1923, Chanel noticed dandies often pinned a camélia to their buttonhole, like Proust.

Chanel added the flower to women’s belts, necklines, hats, perfumes and an icon was created.

Watch this if you want to DIY 🧵 a Chanel Jacket.

Meanwhile Paris is having non-stop rain ☔️ Are Chanel jackets water 💧 proof? I don’t think so.

What a joy to hit this scene. The fabrics are interesting but what makes any design are the buttons. When I knitted my gorgeous sweater in French and Italian yarns I would go to the city,San Francisco there is a shop three flights with the most beautiful fabrics on the first floor. In rolls on the walls and in the center I walked three flights as the elevator was iffy it was so old There are buttons beyond your imagination and trims. I would spend 6 to 8 hours matching to my design and yarns. Lynne

Loved your Chanel post! Would think a lot of dealers with secondhand shops will scoop it all up. Some of the costume jewelry is pretty nice.

  12. Very chic! I guess you have to know what size it is to buy it at the auction, can you try on the clothes? Didn’t seem like it.
Nice details and the clothes look good on the mannequins too. Don’t know if I could afford even one Chanel flower! Best you didn’t ask 😅
