NEW YORK RED

Red is a power color...
Still you don't see red everyday and everywhere in New York...
The way you do in Paris.
Lord only knows why?
Though when Christmas rolls around surely there is red to spare in New York City ...

At least SAKS 5th Avenue's gals all wear power red gowns.
Bergdorf Goodmans has red ostriches signifying what?
Who knows?
Pierre Herme, Paris, original watercolor, 9" x 11"
Paris with a bit of red...
Bloomingdales has red smiling machines...
First you stand here...
In these red shoes....
Then smile like crazy and you'll appear in Bloomies windows!
EAT lots this weekend.
BE HAPPY!
AND HAVE A BALL !
BONJOUR EVERYBODY!!!

  1. Bloomies was smart--what a fun idea--I'll bet people love that. If I didn't know better, I would think you'd been drinking for this post, Carol. I know you don't really drink, though, so you're just in your usual playful mode. You should have the job of the fashion trend writer at the NY Times. Or Bill Cunningham's job when he retires someday. You're always quick to spot the trends. Cheerio. Stay warm!

  2. Oh Sue!
I do miss your expert flattery.
I'll pay you to stay home.
Bill is going to live forever and I don't like to ride bikes.
RED is always in for the Holidays I think...ahem
    Nothing trendy about it
    :)

  5. I read your blog every day, but since I have it delivered to my email, I realized today that I never leave you any comments. I wanted to tell you that your blog is one of the best on the Internet. I've only had French macarons once, but wish I could eat them every day. (I'm French, but have never been to France.) Thanks for all your inspiration!

  9. Carol -- What did I just recently say about your window-display features being the best out there? A case in point right here again. I've got just three words to describe all this dreamy red here:
    BEAU -- TI -- FUL!
Looking forward to more in 2010.
Well, time to sign off for a few days.
    Merry, merry!
    XO
