I had my first macaron the other day. A French child in my 4th grade class brought them in -- his mother made them. They were awesome! But what reminded me of your post was that he said, "Well, Maman makes lovely macarons, of course, but we all prefer Laduree. And you would too if you knew of them." And I thought, only a 4th grade Parisien boy would talk like that! And I also thought, I know I've heard of Laduree from somewhere.
    Where? AHA!
    Paris Breakfasts!
Have fun in Boston and good luck with your work. Boston is one of my hometowns. Hope you enjoy it. Wonderful place.

I want to come!!!! Even though I'm in San Jose, California, I appreciate being invited. I would TOTALLY be at your art show if I was on the east coast. I'm so glad folks are snatching up your paintings--marveilleuse! (it's been a while since French class...).

  37. How magnifique, Carol! Go you!
I just want you to know, though, that I totally lost my mind this afternoon and attempted to make my own macarons. Lord have mercy, as we say in the south. How do they get the dang things so perfect??? You are to blame... You will also be to blame when I go to Paris with 14 eighth graders and we consume our weight in macarons. They are ready to be your research assistants.
