Paris Silhouettes

I noticed silhouettes in many vitrines.. Some are just flat cutouts like this swan... Or multi-colored as this bike shop... Posters have caught the silhouette tendance... And Paris graffiti is often in silhouette... Highly animated silhouettes in Camper's windows...
Bird silhouettes at Annik Goutal...
Not a pure silhouette but a giant iconic baguette cutout....
Paris dog silhouettes on Ile St-Louis.

The silhouettist at Notre Dame. It's contagous, these silhouettes
A contemporary photographer uses an old concept for his carte de visite...
Paris' best loved silhouette...
Paris l'heure bleu is full of silhouettes-no sissors necessary...

BONJOUR SILHOUETTES!

  6. Yes, silhouttes seem to be experiencing a revival now. They're bold and a little playful. I especially love the quiant victorian ones, in fact just bought a pair on ebay!

  7. How do you manage this. I start to photograph a particular thing then forget what the hell it was I started photographing in the first place

  8. Bravissima, congratulations on an outstanding photo essay that is more than a mere silhoutte, but full of life and nuances!

I imagine Paris as a big swimming pool, and you are the big fish in it, nibbling at all those tiny fish swimming in there, whatever they may be, and be they silhouttes.

Annick Goutal's "Les Nuits d'Hadrien" is my favorite parfume. May I ask you to please return the little "c" to her first name? I want her to be happy. ;-) (Her daughter, that is.)

  9. I had a great time walking around Paris with you.
Your eyes are different of my French ones and it's very funny.

  10. Beautiful. Makes me want to go put my hair up and make a silhouette of myself. Absolutely fantastic.

I'm new to Paris Breakfast and am truly enjoying it. I spent a month in France 2 years ago and am still in love with the thought of returning.
    Thanks,
