Cockatoo's Breakfast

Cockatoo's Breakfast,watercolor on Etsy, 5.5" x 7.5"
Last night I saw a Cockatoo in Bergdorf's window munching a macaron. OK, so it was not eating a macaron...
...can I help it if I see macarons everywhere? What can one do? This cockatoo was finished his macaron evidently...
Meanwhile in another window a real woman putting on makeup!? Huh?
The other windows were full of animal paintings in clothing!
The "real" gowns were pretty nifty..don't get me wrong...it wasn't all a cockatoo's surreal dream...
Ah my favorite Paris green...YUM
Hmmm...antlers..
A hound dog as Roman general?
A snake in a striped turtle neck?
A fox in wolf's clothing? Or is he Robin Hood? You tell me!
Just 4 more days until lift-off
BON WEEK-END!

Wishing you a safe journey ---waiting to see what other delights you post this next trip-- love all your bird paintings I have a small side business called Bird Hill Gardens -- herb & floral arrangements and for my signature I use a (fake)bird placed Strategically somewhere in the arrangement... Sometime in the future would love to own a few of your bird paintings,,, to compliment my workspace....Joanny

i just realized you must live in new york. i just passed those very same windows yesterday -- and remember distinctly, not just because of the animal paintings, but i *love* that green dress. where do you go for pastries and other french delectables now that Fauchon has left the building? (and the building Fauchon was in is gone period.)

  13. BRONXBEE - I go to Payard, but really there is nothing like the old Fauchon for authentic Frenchiness and maybe it's a good thing=less temptations. But if they should ever come back I would be happy as a clam! ! !

My name is Melissa. I have been searching for a pink china pattern that I saw in the 2006 movie Marie Antoinette. The only thing I have been able to find is a picture of it. While searching, I came across your page and saw the china in your picture, http://bp3.blogger.com/_HnYemNi0lds/Ri9C9Lm6noI/AAAAAAAAAxQ/4ZAU6Z-6s8Q/s1600-h/2+ROSE+STUFF.jpg So far, this is the only other china pattern that I like. I was hoping you would be able to give me a little information on the china pattern so that I may search for it myself. Thank you for taking the time out to read this.

    Sincerely,
    Melissa

I just want to wish you a safe and wonderful trip to Paris. I too am returning next April. What is it about that city???!!!
This time you will get to eat a little more on the euro diet! YEAH!!
I never had or even knew about "THE MACARON" until I read your blog. We went on a Baltic cruise on the Celebrity Line and everyday at 4:00pm in the bar/bakery (not the afternoon tea) they served La macaron! A different flavor every day!!! (I can credit you for 10lbs) I am hooked.....but will only try one Mac in Paris. With the cost of the macaron I can save up for another cruise if I do not imbibe!
We are planning to do almost all the side trips that you are taking. We are not going to Versailles - did it on the last two trips. We have the Museum Pass and will use it to the max.
I feel like I know you, as I bet all your subscribers do. Thank you for your fabulous art, your wonderful blog, and the sharing of your love of Paris.
If you have time a note would be appreciated - if you find any MUST DOs for my trip in April.
    Thanks again!
    Best Regards,
    Joyce

  17. You are leaving, I returned last night. ;-)
Love that green dress, and your spoiled macaron eating bird! The dressed-up animals are great, my favorite's the fox, who seems ready to go to work with panache ("con brio"), stylish yet sensibly dressed.
