July Desserts

Four French Desserts, original watercolor, 9" x 11"
July is when we break out the whipped cream and strawberries. I thought I'd break out whipped cream desserts from Master patisserie chef, Gerard Mulot to put you in the right frame of mind for coping with Strawberry shortcake on the 4th, tomorrow. Searching for Gerard Mulot desserts is a bit like searching for a Paris apartment. You look in the window and drool... Then you go in for a closer look...still drooling Then ask the price... Then faint...
Then pick yourself off the floor and throw caution to the wind, rush to the cash register and commit to buy. Then eat it. YUM!
BONJOUR PARIS!

  1. I love that you tied it all into being akin to apartment-seeking! Your "find" will be amazing--I predict you'll have your best trip yet. Great post, Carol--I'm a huge fan of whipped cream--it's calcium, after all, right? Good for us.

  2. And I thought French Women don't do Schlag! (You are not going to tell me, only French Men are eating it, are you?).

    Bonjour Carol,
Thank you for leaving a comment on my blog. It is 8 am and CNN is on showing Ingrid Setancourt being re-united with her children, so I am sniffling as I write, happily sniffling!

As for your site, YUM! I love these pictures of the Belgian main food group!

Damn! I was planning a lovely lazy holiday weekend...took an extra day off today to clean, get maintenance people into the house, cook ahead...and tomorrow, I had planned to do nothing more strenuous than pulling the mosquito net around me as I lay on the chaise longue reading "Sarum". Now I'm going to have to make my traditional july 4th dessert:
A beautiful Martha Stewart shortcake made of shortcake dough cut into big stars, baked together in a wreath shape. Should I go all the way over to Whole Foods for the non ultrapasteurized whipping cream or settle for ultrapasteurized? What to do? What to do?
    Have a happy 4th!

  14. This is too crazy. You're so good. Every time I visit your blog, I want to eat. Good thing you aren't drawing spirits, I'd be an alcoholic. (BTW I posted a cup and saucer on my blog I want you to draw...too difficult for my beginning skills....)

OMG, such things really exist? French women are known for being chic and slim. But how can they walk around such things and stay thin?
Hi, I am new here and I like your beautiful blog and the pictures.
