Audrey's Croissant..

#149B Audrey's Croissant, original watercolor, 9" x 11"
If I say Audrey's Croissant (even though it was a Danish) you still know what I'm talking about, right?

Audrey eats like the rest of us...

Audrey drinks coffee out of a paper cup like the rest of us. OK so we don't often get to do it in front of Tiffany's window full of diamonds...well not often enough.
Audrey is all over Paris too...like this chair in BHV...
And these pillows there...
There are tons of Audrey posters everywhere in Paris. And I just saw one at the new Brooklyn IKEA. We all want to own Audrey...
These Paris bags...
Audrey had "cycle chic" way before the rest of us...
Her little Yorkie, Famous is everywhere too. Here you can buy a faux hound at the new Galerie Lafayette Home...
Bikes - everywhere in Paris. Coming soon to New York. Stay tuned..
And Audrey's ballerinas are an all time universal classic. You find them on any street corner in Paris... This post was inspired by these little key chains Kat in Japan sent me...
Thank you Kat!
Thank you Audrey!
BONJOUR PARIS!

  1. Never has a paper cup looked more elegant than in Audrey's hand! :-)

I have been contemplating buying one of those fabulous croissants at Demel's and walk the few steps over to Tiffany's on Kohlmarkt. There I would enjoy myself, looking at the jewels there, all the while savouring the croissant, bite after tiny bite.

  3. I loved Audrey Hepburn. She was a class act. I loved Breakfast at Tiffany's becaaue she was in it. Merisi said it all pretty much.
Love how you get inspired. Those minitures are paying off.

I love Audrey H. and her style. And I didn't even see that movie until last year ~ think of how many times I missed re-watching it over the years had I only known how wonderful it is :-)

I love the paper coffee cup. Such a dull and boring everyday object (instant trash!) but you made it look lovely and romantic!

Carol, you brought a lot of memory's back today, l had trousers and blouse and shoes and even the headscarf and l used to bike everywhere.
But ballerina shoes helped me a lot as the boy l was engaged to at the time was smaller than me so those flat shoes were just right to keep me at his height, if it hadn't been for those shoes l would have been walking in the gutter or bending my back in two lol so l wasn't taller than him.

  13. Can we wear ballerina flats forever? And watch those movies again and again? Ahh, some people just have such elan, such chic grace...Now I am hungry for a croissant...just a nibble.

She deserves every bit of her legendary status. Thanks for the treat once again!

I did not know her pup was named Famous. That is really cute. :))

There was one fashion l loved back then and it was a 50 yard net underskirt under a full circle skirt...
But now they're just wearing the net underskirt as the dress and in bubblegum pink it looks fantastic. I loved the 60s and would love to go back there,

A really busy workweek is actually quite a blessing. It means I get to read several posts all at once! Love Audrey, but I beg to disagree: She does not drink coffee from a paper cup like the rest of us. Drink from a paper cup, yes, but NOT like the rest of us. I have NEVER looked so wonderful drinking from a paper cup!

  17. Fabulous post. Just returned from Paris and was on a croissant tasting comparison.
I found the best in Alsace, a country sort of croissant that simply shouted, crumbled and called my name.
Audrey would be thrilled to know she still lives on in our style hearts.
